rd 1 loma (loma lands the better shots)
rd 2 GRJ (russell wins early part of round, loma comes on later... slight edge to russell)
rd 3 GRJ (russell wins early part of round, loma comes on later... slight edge to russell)
rd 4 GRJ (russell wins early part of round, loma comes on later... slight edge to russell)
rd 5 loma (big round for loma)
rd 6 GRJ (big round for russell)
rd 7 loma (another big round for loma)
rd 8 GRJ (russell outworks loma...loma just backing up)
rd 9 GRJ (same as round eight)
rd 10 Loma (russel starts strong but loma seizes the initiative)
rd 11 loma (russell again starts strong, but loma rallys strong and takes it)
rd 12 loma (toe to toe action, loma able to handle russells power punches, lands the harder shots that back russell up)

In a lot of those rounds where Russell was coming forward he wasn't really landing much, but was winning that portion of the round as Lomachenko wasn't throwing back, but when he came forward in the last minute and a half he would start to find clean body shots and scoring blows.

Throwing a lot of punches is great if they are landing and/or preventing offense from the opposition. Unfortunately the offense of Russell although in abundance was ineffective based on being unable to land cleanly on Loma. If the punches landed were clean it would have been a much different story but reality is Lona was the one landing the more clean, effective blows throughout the 12 rounds.

OK, if loma is landing theclean body shots and scoring blows it's fine... but you still have to land more than three good scoring punches to win a round. loma's output was very low...and russell was also retaliating at the same time when loma took the offensive....in the early part of those rounds russell might have been missing, but he was also landing some...so, like i said, which one do you like better? the high volume from russell which may not have been all effective although some did land, or the low output from loma which were scoring blows and contested by russell? if you divide the round into two halves, in the first hafl, loma is doing nothing...in the second half, they're both putting it out but loma is having the better of the action. to me, that's a russell round.

Again, this is bull****. He was 8 ounces bigger.

Great post, except LOMACHENKO IS NOT BIGGER.

It's been pointed out like 20 times already that LOMACHENKO WAS NOT BIGGER.

    Mental gymnastics.

Good point KillSomething. I should've been more clear- the weights were the same, but Loma did have a height/reach advantage.
