I'm generalizing, no one in particular. But I do know what the general consensus on boxing training boards about nutrition is and that is basically avoid fats, eat lean animal protein and take a few supplements, it barely stretches further than that. The amount of protein consumed by most people in this sport is as ridiculous as the amount of time spent lifting weights.
Again you're generalizing, how much time do they spend lifting weights? 'modern' nutrition and training is nothing modern.
Some years ago there was a big study done to compare the health of Chinese to Americans. It turns out that Chinese eat approximately one third as much protein, have less than half as much body fat, visit doctors about 25% as often, and live on average four years less. Considering the Chinese don't have the development that we have over here, they aren't doing too bad.
The reason kids lift weights is because it is fun. Old fashioned boxing training is ****in' boring! Who knows, maybe kids are stronger these days, but they sure as hell don 't box as well.
Remember when you said woman are better than men at everything? and then you posted a study done on horses as evidence? is this chinese study done on pigs?
Oh, and about the training books, I'd send em to you but they are on my computer, which, not being at home, I do not have access to right now... Just don't get KOed before then, ok?
yep, but it seems like only a handful of us posters remember (me, strike, cross-trainer and a few others).
Shame cross-trainer is gone. He knew his stuff. I vaguely remember a debate on female boxers beating top class male boxers or something of that sort, but didn't bother wasting my time on reading it! Didn't know Pudding authored it. I only really remember the big events, like Squatdog, Insaneboxer etc.
If you speak Russian, have a look on the RUssian amateur boxing federation website (rusboxing.ru). I have some manuals on my computer, but won't have access to it for another month or so.
