Ruthless Robby Lawler vs Anderson 'Spider' Silva - Would Robbie have a shot?

    I have been really impressed with Elite XC middleweight champion Robby Lawler in the fights I have seen. His victories over Frank Trigg and Scott Smith. Obviously, Lawler fights for Elite XC and the great Anderson Silva fights for the UFC so sadly this fight will not be happening anytime soon if at all. My question to you guys is: would the bull like Lawler with his frightening strength and tenacity have a chance against the artistry and seemingly perfect fighting style of the Spider? Thoughts on such a matchup? Thanks!

    After watching Lawler get knocked the **** out by Diaz, I don't think he would last a round with Silva. Silva wouldn't let Lawler get close enough to him to do anything. Silva by early KO!

    Thanks for the feedback. Silva tends to make quality fighters like Franklin, Leben, Irvin, etc. look positively ordinary.

    Silva would smash Lawler into little pieces, cook him in a frying pan with some onions, and enjoy himself one heck of a protein packed post-fight meal.

    Lawler will have a fight with Cung Le sometime very soon. Lawler is the Elite XC middleweight champ while Cung has the STRIKEFORCE middleweight belt.

    Last time I saw Lawler, he was too wild and lacked the intelligence for a surgeon like Silva.
