I know that. I'm saying because they both ended inside the distance (meaning there was leftover time on the scheduled time slot, which allows for both contests to go a full 12) in theory if they wanted to Fuji could have padded out the rest of the broadcast with tape-delayed airings of undercard matches. I'm disappointing they didn't, that's my point.

The outcomes shaved a complete 7 rounds (and change) from the potential length of the broadcast; that was enough time for Oda vs. Aldea to be squeezed in, at least. Or mix highlights of that one and Nakatani vs. Andrade, perhaps.

They might have a copy of the fight in WOWOW which may be showed weeks later on a Monday.

I'll keep an eye on asianboxing.info to see if they have a YouTube link for it eventually.

There are going to be a few European cards but they weren't even really worth mentioning - similarly little of note and probably no means to watch internationally (and doubtful any of them even televised domestically). One in Latvia, one in Hungary and the "biggest" one in Germany, with every A-side on the card as of this morning still penciled in against "TBA". :sisi1

Guess the watching live boxing part of my day is over, will have to get on with my life and do some other stuff I suppose.. :ohno

In two hours I get to attend community yoga with my gf (completely forgot I'd signed up for that), yay..

I did kind of want to watch the headliner of the German card, just on the off chance that some late-notice journeyman exposed 37 year old Kuwaiti light heavyweight fraud and WBU champ Ali Rami.

@Boxing Prospect @titanic - any idea whether Toshio Arikawa vs. Ryoto Yada tomorrow for the Japanese welterweight title will be televised?

Funny enough both have identical records of 15-4 (Arikawa with 13 kayos, Yada with twelve...and both have lost by knockout, so HIGH chance of a fun shootout that could end any moment) and stand at identical heights of 5′ 10½″. Shockingly in the first year of his career Yada somehow made featherweight!

Efficient, though not particularly spectacular, performance from Murata. Blandamura isn't the type to make anyone look better than that, though, so that isn't a knock on him.

Weird timing on the stoppage, but given the way Higa looked at the end of the 8th (going to the wrong corner and looking awfully unfocused) I can't complain. Dude looked done by that point.

As far as I'm aware it won't be televised. It MIGHT (unconfirmed) be available on delay on boxingraise.

Arikawa has avenged 2 of his losses in his last 2 bouts and is on a really good run. I'd favour him here. But great match up as part of the Champion Carnival

I called Higa being a hypejob for a while. I just saw so many flaws. To me he looked like a shitty Chocolatito. He didn't have his arsenal, he was forced to reset a lot, and he just seemed crude technically. The only thing that impressed me was his power. That being said, I didn't think he'd lose this fight. Congrats to Rosales. What a feeling that must be to be such an underdog and take the belt from a champion in his home-town and achieve something that can never be taken away from him, becoming a world champion.

    Cool fact.
Murata was a sparring partner for GGG in his fight against Daniel Geale back in 2014.

Guy has been an obvious high level talent for quite a few years now. I'm glad he's finally been able to step it up recently.

    Round 1 Rosales
    Round 2 Rosales
    Round 3 Rosales
    Round 4 Rosales
    Round 5 Rosales
    Round 6 Rosales
    Round 7 Higa
    Round 8 Rosales
    Round 9 TKO

Excellent fight, even though Higa lost, he showed a lot of heart and hopefully we get to see him in the future. For Rosales The sky is the limit and he is probably the best flyweight in the world.

Has there been a statement from Higa? Is he gunning for redemption and title reclamation in a rematch or is he officially moving up in weight? @Boxing Prospect @titanic ?
