Round 1

Rosales is jabbing in, seeking the head of Higa, settling down after Higa swats at him with a big counter hook, showing explosiveness and speed. Higa is circling left, darting in and out with high left hooks, many pulled halfway from target. Higa very twitchy, lots of jerky nervous energy. A few body hits for Higa. Rosales countering nicely with the 1-2.

Round 2

Rosales is jabbing downward, finding the head of Higa no matter where he dips & weaves. Rosales manages to step in and score a sequence of uppercuts, rocking Higa. Rosales is confidently pushing through Higa's left up-jab delivered from a crouch, bearing down on him and scoring his own jab with long right uppercuts heading off Higa's sidelong escape to his left. Higa flurrying his way to freedom, landing a hook-cross lunging combo to Rosales' face while pitching himself forward, but Rosales soon jabs him into the ropes again, landing another big uppercut.

Round 3

Rosales is banging the guard with the 1-2 and then stepping in and hooking with the shorter champion. Higa putting up the goalposts, tilting in toward Rosales to absorb his straight headhunting volleys, and then ripping the body with a hook. Double left uppercut by Rosales stepping in, banging Higa's arms until they drop, leaden, to his side as he scoots away hurriedly. Lots of nervous chatter from the crowd. They sense impending violence as Higa becomes more and more desperate jumping in with big left & right hook combos. Rosales throwing sharp jabs and crosses down the pipe through Higa's looping blows, and working heavy uppercuts on the chest and clipping the chin of Higa when he bows forward.
