Wilder is a fraud, I can see this happen. Povetkin would knock him silly.

Of course this is very likely to happen. Wilder's handlers are scared to death of Povetkin and Martin is a very winnable fight for Wilder.

I highly doubt this, What could happen which is utterly bs is a unification for wbc and whatever belt Martin is keeping warm for someone else

Just take care of povetkin, so easy then make a real fight. A lot on here are gonna be shocked when povetkin turns out to be the quickest defense DW haa

Yes, it will be the quickest defense. Can't see Wilder making it out of the first round :D

No the unification route is cut off, they are in the middle of 30 day negotiating period. WBC has ordered Haymon to negotiate with Povetkin only. Purse bid is on Feb 26th.

It'd look really bad if Wilder dropped the WBC title and fought Martin for the IBF instead. Much worse than actually defending his WBC title and being knocked out by Povetkin. I can't see him dropping it.

He did, and now look at him. He's pretty much an afterthought.

Does he have to vacate if he fights for a unification? I just can't see WBC stripping off Wilder unless he does something extremely stupid like giving Molina a rematch.
