Ryabinsky: Wilder will vacate WBC belt, will most likely fight Martin

Wilder will not fight Povetkin under any circumstances. He fights guys who range from gatekeeper to fringe contender and struggles every time. He knows that he is risking his health in fighting Povetkin.

 

Exactly my thinking. Some people in this thread sound like Wilder had a reputation to lose :rofl

 

Haymon can't and won't win the purse bid. In that scenario I could see Wilder dropping the belt he seems deathly afraid of having to go over to Russia to fight for some reason.

 

Wilder would soil his pants if he walked into a Moscow arena with 45,000 growling Russian hooligans.

 

If he has any qualms about it its probably getting hosed on a decision.

Povetkin was basically quoted as saying he'd rather get knocked out in America than Russia. Even Povetkin nuthuggers and Wilder haters are hard pressed to explain that one who try to act like Wilder is the one who is more afraid.

 

I've always said this fight never happens. Never. Why would wilder all of a sudden start facing top competition? The track record is there folks. Not happening, fight might be made, papers may be signed BUT they will never be in the ring together. Not in Russia, not in America.
