Lerena landed next to nothing in that round, Merhy landed almost all of the power punches. The commentators said... "good round for Lerena!"

Lerena is walking Merhy down but without throwing any punches. He is good at cutting the ring off.

I'm just not sure that Merhy is doing enough - some of it is good work but away from home I just feel it needs to be more definitive. Looking like Lerena can hurt Merhy as well when he does land.

I could see the fight being scored either way, I liked more of Merhy's work but I am biased as I picked him but I would have liked that last 20 second attitude in the last 4 rounds when he knew he was a long way behind.

Merhy looking like he's just happy to be there. Kerena threw his last fight, and Merhy threw this one.

Thought Lerena was a clear winner. Many close rounds and Merhy was slinging some hefty dangerous shots but so was Lerena and Merhy was reluctant to let his hands go as much as he needed to to win because he was feeling that power.

spot on Serge... I thought exactly the same but he really needed to throw them earlier but just couldn't or wouldn't

Merhy put together a good attack in the last round and caught Lerena with a sequence of big shots towards the end of it but Lerena had numerous such attacks during the fight himself when he let his hands go and had Merhy in a bit of bother and you could see Merhy was flustered by them.

Merhy kept motioning to the ref that Lerena had caught him with shots to the back of the head even though they were clearly to the temple area (even when Merhy blocked them on the gloves too). I knew he was feeling the power as soon as he kept doing that so early into the fight.

Was this a make up for his....sudden change of gameplans vs Dubois?

I honestly think there was some kind of Jake Lamotta deal done somehow. In an era when good fights cannot get made, Lerena losses one and walks into another big-ish fight a couple of months later. If he keeps coming up with these notable fights in rapid succession, I think it is pretty obvious the Dubois fight was a fix, the pay-off being a path to more big fights and purses.
