    Old news?

I don't remember hearing about it but Ryan Barrett is another boxer falling foul of banned substances: Methylhexaneamine which is a stimulant

He's banned until the middle of next year, date of violation was April but only got added to the UKAD website start of November. 15 Month ban.
Didn't help him anyway, the testing came after a KO1 loss in 40 seconds.

The whole hearing notes are online but skimming it shows how poor the knowledge these guys have of what they're putting in their bodies and different drinks etc contain.

There's a PDF which makes interesting reading about him taking a powder mixed with Red Bull before runs, which he had no idea what was in it. His evidence was quite poor.

These guys have seriously got to wise up, rather than taking the word of their "mate who goes to the gym and says its legit."

The daft thing is you can accidentally ingest a small amount of a substance which has no great benefit and get busted, but you can load up to the gills of steroids, growth hormone and epo and as long as you do it properly you'll be untouchable.

    Such a mess.

Yep. I'm sure Barrett is no Larry O but he is not switched on and this is a warning to all boxers, especially those who don't have the benefit of going through the amateur system at a high level and the knowledge that surely teaches you regarding nutrition etc

To be fair to Larry- he hides it well. I mean he's not your stereo typical steriod monster.... oh wait. Cracks me up- Ian John Lewis diving in faster then a prime scmeichal to save a former world champion who'd taken a hard punch on his nose- all the while Larry punching some part time cleaner from bosnias **** right in whilst juicing.

And supplying to others no doubt. The amount he was busted for suggest, or even implies he admitted to much of it as a user, and not a dealer due to much more lenient sentencing

The PDF attached to the case is pretty funny. Apparetly he used to go for runs with Joe Pasquale and he was one of his witnesses aswell.

Cant believe how stupid some of these boxers are

This is the thing - the way boxing is it facilitates cycling on the gear.

The likes of Andy Murray or Bradley Wiggins might as well have a tester move in with them.

It's mixed feelings really - not good to know that people are cheating, but good to know that some cheats are being caught.

What the TV channels need to do - they are the paymasters after all - is black ball people who have been caught.

If HBO came out and said ''we aren't showing XXXXX because he's a cheat'', and tried to encourage Showtime to do the same (or vice versa) that would be great.

Sky shouldn't show any boxer who's been busted.

TEnnis aint so **** hot, not if you're pulling out of lots of tournaments with injuries :deal (not talking about murray btw)

Also I think you are right about Sky, not likely they would IMO

    Unless they already have...?

I'd assume they had at some stage.

Either in the home corner or away corner - I'm sure if people knew their long term earning potential would suffer as a result of a positive test they'd think twice about using.

As it is, they get a ban equivalent to not much more than a typical break between fights, and off they trot.

Yep, like pretending not to be able to pronounce the words on the container, and saying things like "It's the same stuff Enzo Macc took", to try and legitimise it.

    exactly.
And what if a fighter retires then comes back? Is there any testing then? Doubt it
