Ryan Burnett retires

Terrible news.

 

Such a shame, very talented fighter on his day. I really do question the training methods of Adam Booth tbh.

 

Very talented fighter, could have been at the top level for the next 5 years at least. Shame, but he achieved a lot in his relatively short career.

 

A real shame for the lad. A very good fighter, who as mentioned achieved alot in a short career and no doubt would have achieved so much more.

 

Assume that’s the back injury? Had a big future ahead. A real shame.

 

Lived a few doors fown from me at one point in time
Good lad and was obsessed with winning the green belt
Good talent went far in such a short space
Really bad luck a shame for the lad
As said booths methods well look at haye groves and ryan coincidence maybe

 

Proper shame. A fantastic fighter who was vastly underrated by British and Irish fans. Gutted for him that he didn’t go on to achieve more because he definitely had the ability.

 

Posted on the fight thread when he lost to Donaire that this would be a career limiting/ending injury.

Made the correct decision and wish him well for his future whatever he decides to do.

Missed out on a lot of great fights down the line but better to have his health

Because of the back injury or something else. Always sad to see a young athlete miss out on the big pay days.

 

That’s a real shame. Gutted for the lad. There was plenty more to come from him.

 

He was our best talent. I'm devastated.
