Ryan Burnett is a 23 year old Bantamweight with a 11-0 9 KO's record. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and fighting out of London, England. Ryan the Gold Medalist at the 2010 Singapore Olympic Youth Games, Silver Medalist at the 2010 Baku World Youth Championships and Number 1 Ranked Amateur for AIBA with an amateur record of 94-4 after suffering a back injury decided to go ahead and turn pro. He was scooped up by Ricky Hatton the moment he turned pro but after a rough patch for Hatton Promotions he decided to jump ship over to renowned David Haye, George Groves and currently Andy Lee trainer Adam Booth, which is probably for the best since The Dark Lord is better than Ricky Hatton. Its too soon to tell whether or not Ryan is glass jawed and destined to be KO'd the moment he steps up, let's hope not, but against the limited competition he's faced he's looked very impressive, he has good footwork, good jab, good left hook and is pretty damned awkward. So Check Out this rising Bantamweight potential Huge Star In The Making, Ryan "I really need a Nickname" Burnett.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Yeah I know that, since I mentioned it twice in the thread title, but the glass jaw thing seems to be endemic across the British Isles.:D But the Irish do seem to have sturdier chins than the English, if that makes you happy.:good

I would really laugh if that caught on as his nickname.

Irish are known for strong mandibles its the English your thinking of.

Burnett is top class, been watching him since the world youths when he was robbed in the final he beat the same lad a few months later on neutral ground in the youth olympic final, he is actually better than Frampton was at his age, he will be world champ in 18 months time if he gets right oppurtunitys.

I'm half Irish, I know why you all hate each other over there very well, and I'm on your side, but most Americans don't see that much of a difference and it was like 5 in the morning when I wrote it, so cut me a little slack.:good Although as far as chins go I love Andy Lee but.....:!:

    Ryan 'The Piranha' Burnett

Fighting Jason Cunningham for the British title soon. Bantamweight is weak at the moment, could easily blast through to a title soon and then move up

Maybe if Lee can stick around for another 18 months, we may even get an All-Ireland MW title fight between him ands Quigley!

    Could put it in Croker!
