That's not on Tank. Floyd literally said at a press conference that he chooses Tank's opponents and to place all criticism on him. And Floyd even flat out said that he won't let Tank fight Lomachenko.

I think it's been less a case of pure jealousy on Floyd's part than a combination of a controlling nature and a desire to milk the jewel in the Mayweather Promotions stable, its primary moneymaker.

Now that Tank's apparently leaving him (or at least making noises to that effect), he wants to upstage/undermine him out of petty bitterness. Guy can't help himself.

To an extent. But there has been evidence of disagreement between the pair in the period that he's been contractually tied to Floyd. The fighter is supposed to be the boss, the promoter's employer, but, in reality, we know that the power balance isn't typically weighted that way. Tank is reportedly about to make the move away from Mayweather Promotions now that his deal is up. If he does so and isn't any more ambitious after leaving Floyd than he appeared to be while under his wing, or if he ends up re-signing with Floyd after the Rolly bout, it's fairer to put the blame for any subsequent fair to middling matchmaking squarely on his shoulders.

If Tank steps up his LW competition, I'll be first to credit him. At SFW he fought two belt holders. But never fought Berchelt who was the top dog. After 2018 he should have made that fight. He outgrew the division, fair enough, but then everything since has been poor.

Davis gets more slack than most because he's a supposed P4P star, he's had a lot of promotion, hype and backing. After the victory over Cuellar he looked like he would justify the hype, but hasn't done so. And this is 4 years since that fight.

I never let a fighter hide behind his promoter and I won't start now.

It's not really about letting him hide, it's just the reality that he's been a puppet on a string. Floyd hasn't even allowed him to speak for himself at times, and I don't think that's because Tank wanted him to save him from interviews. If nothing changes after he leaves, or if he re-signs with Mayweather, then he deserves the full brunt of the flack.

That's cool, no skin off my butt. For me, he deserves it to an extent, just not the whole extent.

What he does next will go some way to clarifying the matter.

Contracts exist. Signing contracts when you’re young exist. Signing a contract because you think a name = good, exists. How did Tank know what was going to happen? It’s well known that Tank has been unhappy with Floyd.

Just have a look at the recent Rolly press conference, you have a completely different Tank when Floyd isn’t there. He doesn’t mind talking.

I'm not interested. He thinks a PPV star. He thinks he's an a side fighter. He needs the resume to back that up.

Nothing since 2018 backs that up.

You really do like to ignore the point don’t you? I’m not a Tank fan in the slightest. He knocks out Haney with ease and he’ll fight better opponents now that he’s away from Floyd. I also expect him to lose to the likes of Kambosos, Garcia, Lomachenko. I don’t think he’s an elite fighter. That doesn’t mean that we can’t understand why he’s been kept away from opponents by Floyd.

I don't know which part of I'm not interested you don't understand. When he finally steps his competition up maybe I'll show interest then. But right now he hasn't, so I'm not.

What compelling fights would you like?
Not having a go just a genuine question.

At the minimum a replication of SFW, so fellow title holders.

He didnt really fight fellow titleholders at SFW either, just Pedraza.
Technically speaking Rolly is a interim belt holder.

But yeah he should grt in there with Teo,Loma,Haney,Komboso,Garcia, etc.
