Said to be possible for October in LA on DAZN. Again, not confirmed, but Díaz is the frontrunner to be García's return opponent after nine months on the shelf (having fought in a pair of 12-rounders himself since García's stoppage of Luke Campbell in January). There has also been talk of Díaz and García facing Devin Haney and Gervontaa Davis respectively, but those rumors seem a bit less firmly moored. This battle of Californian twenty-something pochos would pit the last two WBC interim lightweight champions against each other, and could yield a new mandatory challenger to Haney, leapfrogging current #1 ranked Vasyl Lomachenko. The unbeaten young star is currently #2 while his southpaw elder, as the reigning interim champion is above Lomachenko, but still below Haney (alongside "franchise champion" Teófimo Andrés López).
Good fight. Not going to count out king rye, But i got to go with the more proven Diaz, whos fighting on a championship level. Hope they make it happen.
Kingry violently KO's JoJo. 130 is verging on a bridge too far, 135 is a no go zone. Yeah, he beat Fortuna, but barely, and he's a blown up FW too. Kingry is not. He's going to pt a nasty beating on Diaz, one that possibly ruins him as a fighter if he doesn't get KO'd early.
My main concern for Ryan Garcia is that I don't think his heart is in this anymore. Yeah, I'm judging him in part for pulling out of the Fortuna fight, but that and the money he already has and all the fame, not sure how motivated he is when you sleep in "silk pajamas". Motivated Garcia is an almost guarantee win, a weak minded Garcia can be taken into deep waters by JoJo and give up mentally.
Please stop irresponsibly suggesting matching Ryan Garcia against Tank as it’s not right or proper. We must take Ryan “Crybaby” Garcia’s mental health into consideration and we don’t want to upset the teenage girls who are his fans.
Jojo is a dog but is too small. He might even land a shot to stun Ryan but in the end, Garcia knocks him out. Let’s see how the layoff has treated Garcia. Young fighters need to be in the ring. He has some holes in his game that need to be corrected. His size and athleticism, and punching power have carried him but he’s not close to his ceiling as a fighter. I hate his big mouth but enjoy his fights.
I agree; kid is already worth $10 million according to Forbes. The only way you blow through that amount of money in your lifetime is by being an idiot. If he has a good enough head on his shoulders he is already financially at a point where he never has to step in the ring again. This will be the real test of, "does Ryan Garcia actually want to be a professional boxer?"
