Barrios had a draw with a grandpa Pacquaio... yes, Manny Pacquiao is a grandfather.

Barrios is one of the worst champions in recent memory and he was hand-picked for Garcia. Style make fights and if Garcia fights at the top level, he'd lose like he normally does (except against Haney). Though I do think Garcia does have a better chance than against Steveson than Lopez due to his style.

Because Ryan is inconsistent AF & seldom takes fighting seriously.
Fights down to the level of competition
    He impressed with a shutout.

He looked good, but it's impossible to not look good against Mario Barrios

Humanity will be judged for letting Barrios become champion.

Boxing is more business than sport these days. It seems the powers that be, feel it's easier to fabricate a fighter, get a few big fights out of them, build them up for a mega event, then slowly push them out while at the same time juice them for every dime they can make. Rather than build a legit fighter from the ground up and allow the true greatness bring in the money.

At the elite level, Garcia is technically extremely poor, has no head movement, is very upright, and drops his right every time he throws a left. He's lucky Barrios was the titleholder. Credit where it's due, though: he won every round. He definitely has shades of Amir Khan about him, where his body seems to be quicker than his brain at times; he throws jittery, slashing shots, some more impactful than others.

If he had an elite trainer he actually listened to and sat down on his shots, especially his left hook, he'd have blown Barrios away in a few rounds. It almost feels like he throws every knockout shot with the intention of turning it into a TikTok. He's by far the quickest at 147, but he's lacking in so many other departments that someone like Shakur beats him in second gear.

Looked good against an opponent who looked bad.

It was a consistent performance. Which for his case, is a good sign. And he certainly seems developed (I.e. better footwork) than say we fought Cambell.

Skill wise, Ryan is bizarre. He had a good amateur career, but he looks underdeveloped. Like his Philly defense looks so amateurish. However, he still managed to catch Haney repeatedly. He’s a mixed bag of something’s he does look great and others look sloppy. It’s weird

Talking boxing IQ, he’s actually not that bad. He and his dad had pretty much the perfect gameplan. And Ryan was also ironically right about calling out Teo’s dad being so confusing. Ryan does seem to understand how game is played

I thought Barrios made Garcia look better than what he was.

He looked good and dangerous early but then it got a bit average against a clearly out gunned opponent.

Haney would destroy Barrios. Haney can fight. He lost to Loma but he's still a good fighter.

ryan fought well. he was disciplined and stayed focus on the gameplan. but barrios did absolutely nothing to disrupt ryans plan. he was as dangerous and predictable as the guy holding the mits on drills. no sweat. told me nothing about whether ryan can keep it together under adversity. cause pretty much anyone with a name is going to bring some problems from here on out.
