Didn't he say he was like depressed and drinking all the time during camp. Or was it another excuse, this clown has too many at this point.

Well... that was the intention for Tank draining him down to 137, now wasn't it? It's not like Tank couldn't fight at 140, he'd just KO'd Barrios at it. He was merely angling for any advantage he could get. So he's not lying. The only problem is, he accepted it, when he shouldn't have.

A weight cut doesn't cause poor technique

Doesn't matter. You still signed the contract at the end of the day knowing full well what the weight cut would've done.

He was dehydrated. His was lacking water in the cartilage between his ribs caused one of his ribs to separate.

He spent his last couple weeks of his training camp with that issue.

**** man I know amateurs that wouldn't even do that ****.

Garcia's a good dude but you can't make excuses saying this, then that. It's pathetic. He signed the contract, he knew what he was in for time to man up and take it on the chin.

There are professional boxers who have done coke, weed, and partied during camp.

Everyone makes mistakes for whatever reason.

    Why you virtue signaling?

Ryan crying baba tears but to be fair he did have a kind of a weird sickly look on the night to me which IIRC caught my attention during his ring walk and Twink did slap a rehydration clause on him which was a female dog/chicken move

Loma is routinely giving away much or way more weight and reach than Twink is, even against Barrios at 140, and he's never tried to weaken an opponent at the negotiating table with rehydration clauses and catchweights so to quote Twink's babydaddy Floyd

“I've never fought a guy at a catch weight. I don't fight guys at catch weights. I don't put plaster in my gloves. These are things I don't do, because I'm not that type of guy”

''I think Miguel Cotto is a hell of a fighter, a strong solid 154-pounder. Pacquiao was trying to fight him at 147. I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he's not comfortable. I want a guy when he's at his best. If he's at his best at 154 and he's strong and he's solid, then that's the fight we're fighting at. I walk around at 150, but the end of the day - skills pays the bills.

[Oscar] De La Hoya - Pacquiao fights him at a catch-weight. Cotto - he fights him at a catch-weight. When I fought De La Hoya, I said 'give him to me at 154.' With Cotto – ‘give him to me at 154.’ Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses.

Weight-draining an opponent depletes them, that's why it's done.
Fighters complaining about it should, since it's a cowardly plague.
Sure, they really shouldn't accept, but it gets complicated when the fight gets refused if they don't.
The worst example I remember being Geale Cotto when that utter disgrace Cotto ducked GGG then wanted his MW fight against Geale at 157.
Geale made it clear afterwards it was a take it or leave it offer. So in that case he wasn't getting the fight otherwise.
The last few pounds are the ones that can ruin them, because they just can't get them off at the end and kill themselves trying.
    Davis is a POS.
