They are still early in the process & he is stepping it up In comp. he needs a couple of more fights with the team. If he shows no improvement he should got to Kronk gym.
He just KO'd a world class fairly heavy handed fighter who's also a southpaw counter puncher, that everyone knew was going to give him problems. **** happens, especially when the fighter is young. He learned from that mistake and adjusted. Nah, he's fine.
Reynoso is a great trainer but he might be too tall for that style. His head is way up in the air because of his stiff/upright back. He always takes 1 step at a time instead of moving fluidly with his feet. Maybe Kronk or Buddy Mcgirt would be better for him. Kronk produced a lot of tall punches but they could also box fluidly with movement. I like how Kovalev adjusted his style with Mcgirt. Garcia needs some of that.
Ryan should watch some Monzon footage to fight maximally effectively as a tall guy at 135. But at 140 and definitely at 147 he will have to learn to move his upper body and bend his knees at will and not depend so much on height and range. He just needs more time to practice all that stuff.
Reynoso didn't say more than 20 different words the entire fight. I get having the translator if you need it but Ryan hasn't mastered golpe and huevos yet? I noticed he and Canelo seem to be able to communicate in some language. That must have been awkward for ODLH.
I wasn't gonna be the first to say it.. Maybe Canelo got a phrasebook, "The Lonely Planet Guide to Las Vegas" and studied the chapter on how to poach prospects from your estranged mentor.
De La Hoya got knocked down multiple times early in his career. Romo and Campanella both caught him in the first round: This content is protected This content is protected
