It's this simple: Do NOT fight for a title if you are going to still fight prospect level or bottom contenders. If Garcia wins a title, he's open game.

i think right now is the perfect time for ryan or teo to fight loma. neither one will lose anything, and they will more than double their fans. nobody expects them to win, theyre kids, and the experience they gain from fighting an elite in his prime, cant be duplicated anywhere else. added to the worldwide exposure, its a huge opportunity. its not like loma is going to beat them so bad that theyre ruined. look at canelo and floyd, nobody really holds that loss against canelo when rating him, everyone knows that was a developing kid.

Canelo vs Floyd was a big money fight, garcia vs loma is not , so I think they’ll just try to preserve ryan’s zero.

I dont think so. Loma is not even as popular as Mayweather, and neither Ryan or Teofimo are as developed as Canelo was when he fought Mayweather.

    I rather see competitive fights.

This 100 times over. Before I read this post I was of the impression that neither fighter is ready for Lomachenko right now, but your right on the money with your assessment. And you used a great comparison, probably couldn't find a better comparison.

Garcia and Lopez are both significantly bigger than Loma, and at 135 Loma doesnt crack hard enough to dish out permanent and irreversible damage to either guy, and both of these kids are probably way too skilled and talented to catch a Jeff Lacy. Even at his two best weights (126-130) Lomachenko wasnt ever really perceived or considered a banger. Ive personally never seen a Loma stoppage win where his power was just too much for his opponent. He's not featherfisted but IMO every stoppage win of his was prominently due to his timing, accuracy, speed, and angle/trajectory. Hed catch his opponents at the perfect time after setting them up and clipping them in a trap and they never even saw the punch coming.

Personally I'm not a fan of Canelo but I give him a lot of credit and props for taking Floyd on when he did, and then getting seriously mollywhopped and unlike a lot of young and extremely skilled and gifted boxers he used it as a stepping stone and becoming a much better fighter because of it. A lot of young kids with the talent and skill of Canelo know how to win, but the large majority of them don't know how to lose, which is much more important in their development.

That's exactly what I was talking about earlier.

I just don't get there are still people who think that a boxer should be in prime age to face P4P opponent. The fact is, most of the times a boxer can't choose their next opponent. Sometimes they get easy one, sometimes they get difficult one. But when a boxer are given an opportunity to face an elite champion, they don't say 'no' just because they are still young and haven't hit the prime.

As a boxing fan I prefer competitive fights with evenly matched opponents over fighters still coming up being fed to well established fighters who should be fighting the best.

There's nothing called 'competitive match' between two titleholders who fight in same weight division.

But again, I don't think Loma wants to fight him now. He doesn't have a title.

Im not a big fan of fighters getting titles if they aren't planning on being the main champion. If a fighter does have a title then he has obligations from the moment forward.

In this case like you said Loma does not have a title and I would not expect him nor do I fancy the idea of him fighting Lomachenko for a shot at this moment. Its a waste of time for Lomachenko especially.

Let them fight each other. Lopez v Garcia. Now that would be one hell of a fight.
