    Could be on May5 undercard

Now, it was already offered to Gamboa on ESPN but he turned it down

But on PPV he can get more $$$

    Good fight....

    Too soon for Garcia?

Gamboa is a midget and a shell of his former self. I personally think he got a gift vs sosa.
I’d take Garcia and by ko. If he can’t beat gamboa right now no sense in building the guy because he just doesn’t have it.
I like Garcia by ko. He’s gonna catch the Chinny gamboa and finish him. Gamboa not the same.

Like IB said, too soon, but he could surprise us, it wouldn't shock me if Ryan did a Robin Hood like number on him.

I think it's too soon personally, but **** it if you've got faith in your boy then why not? If he takes an L it doesn't matter, he can come back soon enough.

They are really rushing this kid. Damn.
But i think he might have enough in him to beat Gamboa. Definitely a really good crossroads fight.
Winner should fight Sosa. (****ers robbed Sosa blind of the Gamboa W)

I would say (even this old and shabby) Gamboa will TKO/KO him, so this fight won't happen (Oscar is not stupid and he knows boxing very well).

Gamboa has lost a step from his prime but he isn't THAT far gone from his vintage self, and his vintage self lest we forget was flirting with the p4p inner circle.

Kingry is all hype until he proves otherwise. I've seen nothing to substantiate this "successor to De la Hoya" nonsense. Those are big fishnets to fill.

Oh - and the "secret weapon" everyone points to as Garcia's path to p4p stardom? Hand speed. Reading on Twitter you'd think 90% of his fans have never watched a boxing match before. His speed is described as "dazzling" and too fast to detect with the naked eye. Pssh. He's no Gary Russel Jr. Hell, I don't think he's even Amir Khan, in terms of speed.

One thing Gamboa has always had in abundance is hand speed. Garcia may look fast against overmatched tomato cans but actually queue up some video side by side with even recent Gamboa fights. Night & day. Gamboa's faster. And that's Garcia's calling-card, hmm..

Gamboa is COMPLETELY shot. He was against Castellanos. Garcia KO-4.

I'm not sold on Garcia but Gamboa has looked so bad recently, the fight against Castellanos who is a decent fighter but really slow for the weight makes me believe that Garcia is fast enough to catch Gamboa and knock him out.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We all saw the Castellanos upset. 2 things: 1) Castellanos is a very high-level journeyman, like a Salido, he can beat world class guys if he gets the right match-up on the right night. 2) Gamboa has fought twice since then. He didn't look great against Reyes, sure, but he got the W - and then, more importantly, he overcame the adversity of being dropped & roughed up by a naturally MUCH larger guy in Jason Sosa - unlike Reyes, a former champ and legitimate player in the division. At this point in time nothing we've seen has demonstrated that Garcia is a bigger challenge than Sosa. He's taller and rangier and judging by his frame is probably a natural 140lber boiling down, but he is yet to come into his man-strength and is currently a bit light in the backside. He isn't anywhere near as physically imposing and strong as Sosa, who imposed his size on "tiny, shot Gamboa" yet still couldn't prevail.

Garcia's big chance is to "razzle dazzle" with that overrated hand speed. He's in for a rude awakening. Gamboa is faster, and isn't as depleted (or as incapable of defending himself against larger men) than many believe.
