Don't know if Ryan would be able to deal with the bufuddling speed and angles of Gamboa, but Gamboas shaky chin would certainly give king rye a good shot. Interesting fight for sure.

If Garcia beats him get ready for the inevitable Ryan Garcia vs Chavez, Ryan Garcia vs Duran, Garcia vs SRR, Garcia vs Loma and Garcia vs Floyd threads.

Gamboa is completely toast... but he's still Gamboa and the kid is 19 years old. He looks the part and all. I'm just saying I'd be pretty highly impressed if he fights and beats Gamboa within the next couple months.

I got a feeling this Garcia is harboring glass mandible. We will see. I love seeing over confident youngens get humbled.

We haven't seen Garcia get hit on the whiskers yet by world class fighter with a bit of pop. That said, he has very quick hands and he can bang and Gamboa is packing some refined Cuban Glass so he could get him out of there. But what happens if Gamboa cracks him first?

Okay, tell me what fighter he has protected and coddled then. As far as I know he matches his fighters hard, and the fact that this young kid Ryan Garcia is possibly fighting a veteran and Olympic star in Gamboa despite being way past his prime is a testament that DLH means business when he is promoting is prospects.

Please understand one thing — Oscar is an investor, in point of fact (who puts money and efforts into his prospects), and any investor who doesn't protect his investments is... well, not smart, let's say it that way.

So, because of this and from what I saw from Ryan Garcia's last fight (who he fought against, and how he fought) I personally don't believe that Oscar will put this kid against Gamboa now.
But if this fight does happen somehow, well, maybe Gamboa is even in the worst form now that he was half a year ago, maybe he doesn't want to train any more, maybe he suffers from frustration/depression or something like that... Even worse — maybe he needs money desperately so Oscar can "negotiate" with him how the Garcia fight can be fought...

    What's your point buddy?

ODLH's career consisted of fighting the best opposition available.

He made a fortune because of that mind set, win or lose he proved to be a PPV star.

So clearly brought that philosophy into promoting. Since his early days of promoting he matched his fighters hard. No coddling, and no ducking.

I don't think he will coddle RG, especially if he's considering putting him up against a past prime but experienced fighter like Gamboa.

He was the one pretty much calling for GRJ to accept the fight with JoJo Diaz.

Sorry to disappoint you but GBP do a very good job promoting fights. They've dominated the SoCal boxing market for a while now, the biggest fight town in the U.S. possibly the world.

Being a good boxer and being a good promoter are two different things. I think at one point Oscar had realized it and became a good promoter (and that period wasn't easy for him psychologically).
