Ryan avoided Haney when he had the chance as well & likely wouldn't be able to beat him either if were being honest.
Really? Damn. I could tell their whole camp was off at the press conference. No one had any confidence and Ryan looked depressed.
Haney was a much better fight for him to take at this stage. Lots of fighters have or do avoid legit bangers. Hell, Haney himself has only ever fought one puncher, and that was an old, shot, inactive, rusty Linares who hadn't fought in 16 months and who Haney's way bigger than. We saw what happened in that fight when Linares clipped him. Ryan is 3-3 against Haney in the amateurs and with the small gloves on and that power Haney's chin would've been in real danger of getting cracked.
He was doing fine against Davis too, just got caught early on and fought scared thereafter, also he kinda quit at the end. I'm sure he has a bright future, but you don't quit on a ppv fight like this
Yeah man he was trying to encourage Ryan to get up from the body shot & was seen with disappointed with the stoppage, I'm sure Bernard was there as well, it's just a show for them to enjoy at this point in their lives.
Weak PPV like accurately predicted beforehand, fight was never close to a 50-50 pick em either, the repetitive old promos made it more stagnant, undercard was underwhelming & why were they pouring in ads when you've paid for an PPV, Draft kings overload.
Oh, come on, everyone. We wanted big fights and we got one. I’ll take the Ryan Garcia approach over the Terence Crawford approach any day.
They were afraid ryan would lose to a lesser fighter and only wanted to risk a loss if it meant a big pay day
