How did Aloys Jr do btw, I saw him in Glasgow on the Taylor-Essuman undercard and was very impressed?

Apparently even the mere HINT that somebody is rocked is enough to wave it off. WTF!!

Good performance from a (relatively) local fighter to me but in my opinion he looks a KO waiting to happen.

Ryan Garner showed today that he’s world class, Bellotti had been running through guys at British level, and Garner ran through him.

Zorro spoiled his way through the match, and it was insufferable to watch. Aloys didn't impress.

Very technically gifted Garner, probably too technically gifted to keep walking into that step-across-the-line backhand for as long as he did. Maybe he just doesn't mind taking a shot or two to get at his guy, which is great, but it seems like a habit he should attempt to retire at World level.

Of course, I think it's always better to stop it too soon rather than too late but Bellotti is a warrior and deserved the chance to hear the final bell. He didn't even get wobbled that badly, he hadn't touched the canvas and from what I saw he was holding his own throughout for the most part. He still looked to me like someone who could adequately defend himself even if his legs were a tad stiff.

Look, I really like Bellotti, he's fun to watch and easy to root for. But beating the likes of Navarrete, Nunez, Cacace, Rikiishi, Foster, Ford, Hernandez, Ghoulam, Samedov, Suarez, Zaurbek or even Wood is proof of someone being world class, not Bellotti. Unfortunately for Garner, I doubt he can beat any of those guys.

I'd probably pick him over the husk of Leigh Wood tbf.

It’s kind of a tough division, but I think he’d beat some of those.

My logic was based on the fact that Bellotti did face a good few guys who were British level, but he dominated all of them, so he must be at least European level, but I do admit that Garner dominating him could have been due to styles as there are still a few unknowns with Garner.

Context matters though, and body language of the hurt fighter matters. Tonight we've seen a series of career journeymen let off the hook early while pretending to stagger or whatever, and that's fair enough - the fight has been beaten out of him, if it ever existed in the first place, and anything after this point is a waste of time. Belotti though has been around the block, is here to win the fight, and was clearly fully intending not only to continue but to continue to try and win, in the final round. It's absurd to stop him before a count. Judging the difference is a big part of a referees necessary skillset.

Judging by the sheer amount of clean flush and very hard right that Bellotti landed on him, I'm not so sure about that.

He beats none of them! Maybe Wood, but even that's questionable. Garner is slightly above British level, I'll give him that. Not sure if he's Euro level or not. He's floating there in the periphery.

I meant Bellotti must be at least European level based on how easily he was beating guys at British level, and Garner dominating and stopping him means there’s a decent chance he’s world level, the only reason he wouldn’t be is if his performance was largely a bad style matchup for Bellotti.

Based on the few losses Bellotti has in the past, I trend towards thinking Garner was just a bad match up for him.
