Headlining a K2 promotion on Tuesday night in Hollywood, FL. No word yet on TV/streaming. Martin is a 20-0 (11) prospect last seen on the Golovkin vs. Canelo PPV undercard. Flórez is the glass cannon best remembered for popping Miguel Berchelt's cherry. So either Martin gets exposed if the heat is too much for his defense and/or chin, or he graduates (while a very early or sudden KO suggests his power is, at most, a little better than his record indicates)
Eh, Florez KO'd Berchelt because he was huge for the weight and probably should have been at 140 all along, and Berchelt got sloppy. Martin, while I'm not all that thrilled with what I've seen, I doubt has many issues with him, he'll get him out of there in 5.
Still don't understand why hunting down Flórez and demanding a rematch hasn't been top priority for El Alacrán. Like you, I'd strongly favor Berchelt to avenge his loss in like kind (perhaps even faster than 90 seconds!) It could easily be his Wlad vs. Brewster II yet for some reason he's letting the chance slip away, so it will instead go down as his Wlad vs. Puritty or Sanders II. Can't imagine the fight would be hard to make. Just offer Flórez half the purse- what's he going to do, turn down that kind of money? Easily worth it to add the "has beaten every man he's faced.." distinction to your byline.
As for streaming, read on the 360 promotions page it’s going to be covered by Ring TV with Steve Kim and Douglas Fischer on the call. This content is protected
RingTV is streaming the entire 7-bout card from 9:15pm EST (that means we get to see Abel Sánchez-trained Ukrainian welterweight 6-0 prospect Serhii Bohachuk. )
Four of the bouts are 4-rounders and two are scheduled for 6. If they all go the distance, expect main event ring walks no later than 11:30pm EST. I'd recommend tuning in by quarter of to be safe, in case there are multiple early finishes. edit: and if you want to catch Bohachuk, give yourself even more cushioning, say around quarter past 10.
I think his résumé already beats the other, more hyped Ryan's (Garcia) and if he impressively destroys Flórez it will put even more distance between them.
