    Alvarez by KO.

Good job Rhodes pulled out of the Kociency fight otherwise he wouldn't have got this shot.

Still, good to see Rhodes in good spirits.

When Alvares hits Rhodes the only dance Rhodes is going to be doing is the chicken dance.

Rhodes is going put a stop to the Canelo hype train and take his gifted belt. He couldn't't finish Matt Hatton off for Pete's sake.

Canelo is so squared up and open when he punches that Rhodes will not be able to miss.

There's a big if surrounding this fight.

IF Rhodes can shake off the ring rust and get the sharpness he needs to implement his style, which will see him come through a shellacking from a pretty fast and consistent offensive fighter who has, at least given what we saw against Baldomir/Cuello/Cotto, decent pop, and can last into the later rounds as Hatton and Ndou did (he's naturally bigger, and cagey and awkward, Canelo may well find it hard to get as much off against someone who isn't straight on) then he can land something accurate and we'll see just how effective Canelos style is going to be in the long run.

I reckon Rhodes can stop him. IMO, this is a risky fight to put a good prospect in against, and people have overlooked that. A guy who is about the same size as Saul (if not bigger) who has fought bigger guys, has an awkward style, bags of experience and nothing to lose.

Sadly, I think the ring rust is going to be a major factor. It's a real shame he didn't fight Kocency (or whatever his name is, seemed a solid Euro-aggressor in everything I saw of him, but definitely an accumulative hitter for the time it took him to get rid of a short notice Matthew Hall) because he would've had less of a lay off and another good win under his belt going into this fight.

I hope Alvarez turns up thinking Rhodes is a pushover. I'm glad he's getting his shot after De La Hoya claimed GBP went for Hatton over him last time. Rhodes is a bit of a cult fave, I really think he deserves to grab a strap for himself, even though i see no value in them (and see none in Canelos) and will be watching the fight with some interest.
