I think he could pick up a title even now. Maybe.

    agreed

although I think Harry Simon would have been to strong for him too

his career was cut short because he was to blame for a horrific car accident that killed a number of people and went down a few years for it

    at what weight

what title - a real one or a paper one

we are talking about world terms here

we know Rhodes even now is British Champion and one of the best in Britain maybe Europe

but can he seriously challenge for World titles now??

    campas was a good puncher.

certainly good enuff to crack rhodes anyway.

simon would have walked thru rhodes.

    as would vargas.

winky would have broken him down.

just admit he wouldn't have had it gaz. :yep

    At 154, why not?

WBC - Sergio Mora (very very average. Got lucky with a very old and over confident Forrest)
WBA - Daniel Santos (This guy was impressive against Alcine, might be too young and powerful, not an ideal match)
IBF - Verno Phillips (worse than Mora IMO. I don't think he beat Spinks, that was a daylight robbery. Infact, there is form here. Rhodes beat the man that beat the man - Paul Jones :yep )
WBO - Sergei Dzinziruk (Probably too technically sound and schooled for Rhodes)

rhodes was fairly comfortably outpointed by lockett the other year.

living in dream world on this one.

and 154 is a bit **** at the moment.

Nah, Campas was one handed and there to be outboxed, Rhodes would have had a decent chance at getting a points win in his prime. Simon would have been trickier but not beyond the realms of possibilty. No argument on Vargas.

good luck to him if he can do it - but I have my doubts he is world class now

maybe in his prime he would have taken one of them guys but what is left beyond British level for him??

Well, not much looking at the rankings. I don't think he's top 15 ranked by ANY of those organisations. It's going to be a long old trek for world honours if he wants to get there. He would probably have to beat the winner of Moore/Baysangurov to even get himself on the radar

On the video I posted they saying Rhodes was a bigger version of Naz

    no way

Naz was a different class to Rhodes

    bigger pound for pound puncher

and better reflexs and defensive evasivness

    Naz was a phenonmnal talent

    Rhodes was just good

He had a chance against Harry Simon did he?

If Simon had not been derailed with bad problems outside the ring he could have been undisputed 154lbs and 160lbs champion. He was TH
    AT good!

    :hat

Harry Simon beat Ronald Winky Wright - so he was that good

I remeber watching the fight live

they gave the decsion to Wright and he took his belt back to the changing room

then in a farce they changed the decsion because there had been a error and gave the decsion to Harry Simon
