Ryan's next opponent has been announced:

    http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=14041&cat=boxer

Never seen the Italian, who has been stopped several times at welterweight and light-middle. 12 stoppages from 36 wins also indicates he doesn't really have much of a dig either.

Hopefully Ryan sheds some ring rust, and earns a few quid whilst awaiting that world title shot.
However, i've just checked the WBC rankings and Margarito has rather alarmingly appeared at number 2 at lmw.

How the **** did that happen? He hasn't fought at lmw for 6 years, is coming of a ko loss and an enforced period of inactivity, & yet leapfrogs Rhodes in the rankings? Disgraceful.
I don't know why i'm so shocked that the WBC is once against displaying favouritism towards a Mexican fighter.

With Martinez, Cintron and Chavez Jr all campaigning at middleweight in their most recent/forthcoming bouts, this clash seems inevitable for the vacant belt. Hopefully Hatton can somehow attain home advantage for Ryan ... but I doubt that'll happen.

So how does everybody see this one panning out? A much harder bout than had been anticipated I have to say; hopefully that beating at the hands of Mosley took something out of Margarito.

My word i didn't expect this. I hope he beats **** out of Margocheato. I dunno if he can because we dunno what type of Margo we will get.

Although it may not happen...Boxrec...but Thanks for Posting...interesting to see how things pan out.

His next opponent is Luca Messi mate. It's not listed on the online Sky schedule but has been confirmed on skytext, and that's usually a fair indication.

Yeah i knew he had the european fight with Messi. Should win and win with a fair bit to spare. If he fights Margo it be in Mexico or Texas...i would think.

We know Magarito's next fight is for one of those crappy WBC International titles so I think its more Commision-Greed than Mexican-Favouritism.

Rhodes won the same belt and was rewarded with a top ten ranking.
The ****ers not even won the belt yet, and finds himself at number 2 in the rankings.
I know his previous prior to fighting for the belt is superior to Rhodes' achievements, but a top 3 ranking can not be justified.

Margarito vs Rhodes has a nice ring tio it though. I think Rhodes has a good chance against him personally.

Rhodes Margarito could be intresting i quite like the idea of this one not sure if i fasncy his chances he would almost certainly fight away Margarito has a massive following despite the illegal wraps situation. Would be good money though and winnable though obviously very hard to gauge without seeing a post illegal wraps outing of Margarito

    It's all about sanctioning fees.

There is bound to be a lot of interest in him after the wraps incident, and had become a big name after beating Cotto (legally I might add).

Rhodes isn't as much of a draw as Margarito, therefore is likely to be overtaken - why else would Chavez jr be above anyone within the top 15?

Could Arum see Rhodes as an easy fight to get Margarito a world title though? Possibly

I think Martinez has any number of fights open to him so Marg may have to wait on that one.

Luca Messi not bad. Former World title challanger, bit past his best but Rhodes jsut needs to keep busy.

Martinez vs Williams is at 154lbs.

Pretty sure the winner of that will be fighting Margorito for an interim belt, if not Martinez for the actual title.

Rhodes needs to go after a different belt anyway. All 3 of these guys would beat him comfortably. The IBF where he should be looking he is ranked 4 with them.
