    Hey guy's,

What's everyone's thoughts on the upcoming Ryan Waters Fox show, Left Hook Promotions first foray into TV.

I don't personally think it's too bad, bar the main event leaving a bit to be desired. I can't see Gary St Clair giving Ryan too many headaches, but there's some names on the card to watch.

Bolling back on and will be looking to atone. Zac Awad hasn't been massively impressive in recent outings so I assume he'd be looking to make an impact and get some drive happening again.

Do we see them square off down the track?

I do hear Ryan's got another show in planning, (June'ish) subject to TV approval and it has him in a great main event fight if it comes off. I can understand the easier path of St Clair to return with since his last bout with Mandy.

I should say also, best of luck to Ryan and Cherie Waters. Their really doing some good stuff down there at Cronulla and I hope showcasing their shows on TV works really well for them.

    Everyone's thoughts?

Well, lets see. The mainevent pits a junior middleweight against a lightweight. No wonder boxing is a joke in this country.

Yeh I not jumping up about St Clair (probably even worse, his best days were as a FW and SFW), but it's probably the most easiest route for Ryan to return on in readiness for his show after that should it get approved by TV.

His fight following is a great fight.

Ive already made my feelings about the Waters V St Clair fight clear so I want to ask Contendo or anyone who may know.

How could Fox seriously consider airing this fight? In all seriousness is there absolutely anyone for Fox Sports that looks at the matches and gives there approval/disapproval?

Anyone who reads about the US scene would know how HBO and Showtime approve or reject certain fights. Whole fights or cards don't make it off the ground if a network says no.

No one here needs to tell me this isn't HBO or Showtime we are dealing with but seriously can anyone tell me first of all is there even a process and if there is what is it to getting a fight approved to be televised on Fox Sports.

If there is a process then someone gets the joy of explaining how Ryan Waters V Gairy St FREAKIN Clair gets approved.

What a joke of a fight. Seriously not even a joke of a fight actually it's that bad.

Certainly no shows coming out of Grange in the foreseable future. Direct from the horses mouth.

Shame, their Fox shows last year (all bar the season ending one) shat all over anything produced throughout the year by anyone.

    Thanks for the reply Contendo.

Grange do seem to put on the most decent cards it's a shame there won't be any more in the foreseeable future.

With what you said about no one really checking on the quality of the fights aired on Fox, One HD seemingly losing all interest and Grange pulling the plug, where exactly does boxing go in this country?

Grange are getting ready for a possible purse bid for Geale if talks dont come through with Saurland.

Saving their bickys IMO to see if they can punch on down here for the title.

Now I dont think they could win the bid against the cashed up Germans but all the same gotta think its worth a shot

You wonder how much cash the tazzy gov has to throw into a WTF for Geale :huh

I have said it before & will say it again i would rather FOX show 10 shows a year instead of about 15...if it meant the main 2-3 bouts on every card was of decent quality & them having to approve of it GREAT.

Unfortuntely it leads to bouts like Waters-St Clair main event is being shown on TV at the moment.

Seriously Keg's, I doubt whether Fox have a seriously credentialed 'boxing person' within their staff who can actually approve the quality of the card. A guy like Lou DiBella was for HBO years ago before branching out as a promoter.

I seriously reckon all any promoter has to do here in Australia is simply write names down on paper and submit and whoever at Fox who heads programming, if he/she 'remembers them/remotely heard of them', then whooshka, there's your show approved!

What about making the promoter submit a card proposal with a figure requested to help finance the show (licencing fee), hence it's in both Fox and the Promoter best interests to get a cracking card. The better the card, the more financial support weighed into it to make it work for all concerned.

I agree Contendo FOX dont have a boxing person in their staff & wouldnt have a clue what they are showing, they just assign dates to promoters & whatever gets made happens.

Hell FOX dont even have a boxing commentator doing play by play for their telecasts...just a guy who talks about MMA & then a little boxing every half hour.
