I'm not buying that Ryder was shot. I think Munguia was just hitting him harder than he expected. You can see it from the very first round in Ryder's face. Those punches from Munguia hurt.
Munguia really did put alot of punishment on Ryder, but to his credit he did fight back and did land some good shots in return. Ryder has just never been a world level fighter to me while Munguiashowed his worth.
In the Ryder fight Munguia looked bigger and stronger than Ive ever seen him before, seemed to hit harder too. Pre fight I also didnt expect him to have the power to KO Ryder either though I expected him to outclass Ryder
Ryder is conveniently omitting a fact here that matters a great deal: Canelo's hand was still injured at the time of their fight. Right after the Canelo fight Ryder said that Canelo wasn't a hard puncher yet his crushed nose was gushing blood everywhere. Not a hard hitter yet he can do that to you? Lol okay. As for he Mungia stuff, its no comparison. Munguia landed a lot more direct shots to the face than Canelo did, yet all he managed to do was put blemishes on Ryders face. Mungia could very well be a hard puncher given his (now) 44-0 with 35 KO's, but he is not a harder puncher than Canelo who has a track record of KO'ing Plant when the bigger/stronger Benavidez couldn't, crushed Saunders skull, messed up Callum Smiths bicep, etc. I think Ryder is still mad he lost.
Obviously Canelo is orders better in terms of skill but I don't think it's an unreasonable proposition to say Munguia hits harder.
