Just about to start on Channel 7 in Thailand, could be the bout of the weekend given the styles of the men involved. Japanese fighters have never won a world title fight in Thailand, barring Koki Eto's interim title win, but Akaho has the power, style and confidence to overcome Pungluang. These two fight for the WBO title that was vacated by Tomoki Kameda earlier this year.
Been in the ring 10 mins and we're still getting introductions...those sneaky Thai's! Akaho was told about this and Yota Sato did an interview about it recently...but it must be hard to prepare...Akaho looks intense but bored chewing gum
I don't see it, but it is his only way to win here...Tomoki needed THAT body punch to stop him, Akaho is slow and wilder...can't see him landing a similar one
10-9 Pungluang, interesting start, very competitive, Akaho looks wound up though and is looking just for bombs
Pungluang charges out to begin round 2, Akaho fires back, Pungluang turns Akaho, who throws himself into the turn buckle, Pungluang fires off as Akaho turns and KO's him. Pungluang KO2
That KO was facilitated by a clubbing forearm/punch to that back of Akaho's head, I really wish these refs would be more vigilant when it comes to rabbit punches.
