Quite unsurprising given his 37 years and the very violent fight against GGG. I remember a boxer who was able to capitalize on his Olympic title in 2012 and really had a high world level as we saw against N'Dam or Brant in the rematch.

He is surely one of the boxers whose career has suffered a lot from the Covid. He was on a roll in 2020.

Murata, when he was on, was a bad man as seen in his rematches with Ndam and Brant. He brought that same determination and then some against the aging GGG, who also had something to prove. GGG wanted to prove himself worthy of a 3rd fight with Canelo, so he held nothing back and gave Murata a career altering beating in the second half of that fight. Hopefully it didn't take too many years off of Murata's life. Murata really proved himself that night, Murata's stock went up after that fight for me. One he** of a fighter, he will be missed.
