Ryota Murata is a 29 year old 5'11.5 Middleweight with a 7-0 5 KO's record. Born in Nara Nara in the Honshu Region of Japan and fighting out of Tokyo. He alongside Inoue are the absolute best prospects The Land of the Rising Sun has to offer. Incredibly entertaining, great body puncher overall just really a great talent, but he needs a better trainer and better defense. He's the 2012 London Olympic Middleweight Gold Medalist. Huge upside on Murata he's very handsome with a come forward fan friendly style Bob Arum obviously knows his stuff because he signed Ryota the moment he turned pro, he may very well have another Pacquiao in the making, very easy to market. So Check out 村田諒太 tearing through his opponents like a hot Samurai Sword through Butter.:toney:toney:toney:toney

I've heard Top Rank has really fast tracked this guy, and even sent him up to Big Bear to spar GGG.

Yeah Bob seems very excited and for good reason, but he shouldn't rush too much, he has flaws that more skilled boxers can exploit.

One of the things that strikes me the most is how a lot of the London gold medalists that turned pro don't bother with taking baby steps, but skip levels as fast as they can to make it to the top.

i like this Murata kid :good

Murata doesn't do much to stop his opponent from striking head movement isn't part of his game. This is due to his trainer Salas who'd prefer Murata to throw 5,6 combos instead of the Futch favoured slip right right upper cut used by Frazier, Bowe and many others actually Roach teaches that technique.
Murata is open to right-hand uppercuts followed by left-hand hooks.

I think part of it is their slightly advanced age.

Going pro in your mid/late 20s doesnt really give time for baby steps, and also they've been at the topp level of amateurism for years.

They're pretty developed. Just need to learn how to slow the pace down at pro level, to last the longer distance

Murata is a solid if not spectacular prospect. He mixes his punches well and has solid power.

Alternatively he lacks elite level athleticism, gets hit too easily for my taste, and may not carry his power against better opposition.
