Easily the third best at 105. Would school both Knockout and Wanheng.

There's a nice little 3 way round robin shaping up with Kyoguchi, Yamanaka and Barriga. Wanheng and UD Freshmart are old news.:deal:

    Round 1 Canizales 10-9
    Round 2 Canizales 10-9
    Round 3 Canizales 10-8

The first Carlos easily takes it, the second was a back and forth, but most of Konishi's flurries were partially caught on Carlos' arms, Carlos did the better work upstairs, the third was a domination, if it weren't for the mini comeback at the end for Konishi, a 10-7 argument could have been made.

Konishi's mother crying between rounds was brutal.

    Round 1 Canizales 10-9
    Round 2 Canizales 10-9
    Round 3 Canizales 10-8
    Round 4 Konishi 10-9
    Round 5 Konishi 10-9
    Round 6 Konishi 10-9

Canizales blew his load in the 3rd, looked so tired he was basically near collapse, the fifth was near even for the first two minutes, with Carlos seemingly recovered, but Konishi's body shots in the final minute of the round had a real effect, the sixth was dominant, it reminded me of the final round of Crolla-Barroso, if Konishi had a lick of power he would have stopped Canizales.

    Round 1 Canizales 10-9
    Round 2 Canizales 10-9
    Round 3 Canizales 10-8
    Round 4 Konishi 10-9
    Round 5 Konishi 10-9
    Round 6 Konishi 10-9
    Round 7 Konishi 10-9
    Round 8 Canizales 10-9
    Round 9 Canizales 10-9

The 7th was razor close, it could have gone either way, Carlos has recovered, and they landed on even terms, but I prefer the slightly harder shots of Konishi's, the 8th was another razor close round, with the workrate of Konishi dropping slightly, and Carlos a little sharper and more accurate, the 9th Carlos fought very negatively, at times seemingly running, but he still landed the more telling shots, and was far more accurate.

    Round 11 Canizales 10-9
    Round 12 Canizales 10-9

Nice bounce back from Konishi, he pounded Carlos body like a bass drum throughout, Carlos looking gassed again, excellent 11th from both men, its now a war of attrition, with Carlos getting the best of it, barely, but he blocked a lot of shots, and landed cleaner upstairs, the 12th was a war from start to finish, excellent gas tank's on both of these guys, especially when you consider Carlos could barely stand after the 3rd, Carlos got the better of the exchanges since he was slipping and blcocking many of Konishi's incoming fire. That was an excellent fight!!!!

    115-112 Canizales

114-113 either way is fine as well.

Konishi looked amazing in this fight compared to all of the other matches of his I've seen of his and the one I skimmed through, Canizales really brought the best out of him, made him have to dig deep, this was an excellent learning experience, and a loss he should be proud of, he'll get better from here, hopefully. However had Canizales not done his best Perro Angulo vs. Kirkland impression after the KD, he probably would have won by mid round stoppage. If they rematch, he'll have that in the back of his mind, and won't make that mistake again.

Yeah I was actually very impressed with Konishi. To come back from that third round and win the fight on my card was incredible. A LOT of refs would have stopped it in round 3. Konoshi was able to will himself back, albeit with the help of Canizales blowing his load.

    Yamanaka wins by RTD8

What an immaculate performance from Ryuya, absolutely brilliant, there were shades of an orthodox Billy Joe Saunders in there. Everything was picture perfect and on point, his excellent control of range and distance, his handspeed, his footwork, beautiful punch selection and placement, he couldn't miss with anything, his sneaky right uppercut was a thing of beauty, his check left hooks, his laser guided right hands, his punishing one twos, his left hooks to the body, and as the match progressed his blistering combinations, and add to the that, his defense was near perfect, Yamanaka is a absolute beast, albeit a tiny one.:ggg

Canizales really goofed blowing his wad in the 3rd round after the knockdown. He went full caveman and probably a good opportunity of an early KO had he picked his shots better. He was a dead man walking from rounds 4-7... Konishi made it even worse with his body work and pressure. 2nd wind for Canizales saved him from taking an L here, but he probably would have had a much easier night had he taken a more measured approach in the 3rd. Konishi looked much better than I expected him to.... The cut to 105 was definitely taking it's toll on him and he's meant to compete at Light-Flyweight.
