    1. Battling Siki (obviously...)
    2. Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye (captured & defended the European Union 168lb title, and challenged twice for the full Euro title, drawing with Chris Rebrasse and then losing to him via TKO4 in the rematch. He takes a third stab in a couple of weeks, taking on tough fellow 35-year-old Hadillah Mohoumadi...)
    3. Assane Diouf (3x middleweight and 2x light heavyweight French titlist; fought the great Marcel Cerdan and was KTFO but to be fair was 37 and should be credited for even stepping in the ring with Cerdan at that age...)
    4. Mamadou Thiam (2x Euro champ @ 154lb, fought a number of big names like Andy Lee & Félix Trinidad but always got stomped when he stepped up in class. Big punch but shaky chin...)
    5. Souleymane Diallo (hard-punching 154lb also-ran on the European scene in the 60's; held the French super welterweight title but was knocked out in his Euro title bid...)

...and that's about it. :conf Nobody else from the westernmost tip of the Dark Continent has done much of note in the sport, nor has it even produced a steady flow of respectable journeymen to export to Great Britain or mainland Europe to give young prospects rounds, as is the case with neighboring West African nations like Ghana or Nigeria.

If you want to stretch matters a bit from just "born there" and claim David Haye (of distant Sénégalese descent, via his Jamaican father's side) then he can slot in @ #2 behind Siki, but otherwise that's still a very paltry list for a country whose boxing history extends over a century. :think

They're too busy trying to avoid being hacked to death by Right Wing Islamic Fundamentalists and avoiding being sold into slavery to work in the blood diamond mines to concentrate on Boxing.

Theres probably a few French guys of Senegalese extraction, but none that Im certain of.

    Pretty random country to choose!

    Good soccer players though

I think I combed through and found the couple of relevant ones. (Thiam, Ndiaye..)

As for why I looked into their gross national yield in the sport, it was exactly because you never hear about Sénégalese fighters even though Siki, while not a true ATG himself, does have an undeniably all-time great individual win...and Ndiaye was something of a European prospect and forum darling a few years back. (and who knows, could become Euro champ next month)

Well with all the generic military shooters out these days, wouldn't shock me if there was a character or two partially based off of him.

Nudist cannibal genocidal despots. Man, times sure have changed from the innocent days of my youth when final bosses were fire-breathing vertical-leaping turtles and barrel-tossing apes. :-(

All this stuff is extra real to me, due to the tons of Haitians they were flooding into Miami in the 70's and 80's to avoid getting hacked up and used in voodoo ceremonies by the Duvaliers and the Tonton Macoute. Serpent and the Rainbow creeped the f*** out of me when my older sister told me that all that was happening like 90 miles to the South.

    All so weird to me.

Like, do people not get what year we're in? You can't be nodding along with shit like voodoo and cannibalism (or female circumcision, or wholesale slaughter of ****sexuals for sport or any of the other unfortunate byproducts of anachronistically primitive superstitions that persist to modern day) in 2015 and thinking "yep, seems legit" when 99.99% of the rest of the world is looking at you like the homeless guy that just wandered into a fancy boutique winery and took a dump on the floor.
