No, I felt Sturm won, though Macklin gave a good effort in that one for sure.

So for me Macklin wasn't even the best in Europe.

 

I don't even know what the fuss is all about. I just said that Martinez wasn't an elite fighter. I might have thought so had he finished strong against Chavez, but that KD was a changed my mind back to what I always though. I never really thought much of Jr., anyway, but he is truly big, and a guy his size can hurt you if he connects.

 

What was fussy about it? Just talking boxing, man. I don't need validation from anyone on here about my opinions. We just come to share them and debate amongst ourselves and we're a pretty miniscule group on a grand scale, so really I appreciate the input of any fellow boxing fan so long as it isn't trollish type ****.

 

Yup, just another solid defense against a contender at the time. Matt was in the upper tier back in March by most outlets and was a painless fight to make. I'm not hyping Macklin, Sister Sledge brought him up. :deal

 

No worries. It's all good. Actually the conversation to a turn where it wasn't even about the title thread anymore and just about if Sergio was elite or not.

Nice conversation, though not much left to add I don't think. Martinez is eyeing a return in May according to his advisor. Sooner/Later than initially thought? That isn't too bad imo. Maybe an additional two months over when he'd likely of returned without any serious injuries.

That's where the money is at, Lest! If Ward was in Floyd's position in terms of popularity and PPV power, he'd be angling just as hard for that fight even though it'd be disastrous. But Ward is a nobody who won't leave his hometown . Pure money motivation.. Other than the 185 lb Chavez, the other names happen to be 154 lbers (Floyd, Canelo, Cotto, et al). There are some good fights amongst the top five at middleweight to take place from now to spring 2013 to determine who gets a shot at the Crown.
