It's work that like though does it?

The assumption first needs to be made that somebody is going to absorb everything Sergio gives them. High hands, caginess, and, what may turn out to be a truly great chin, was what got Chavez into the 12th.

Graziano for instance fought face first - he is fair game to walk onto that hurtful left.

We'll see. He tore his meniscus, which is typically a pretty simple procedure that has a full recovery time of 6-8 weeks with little needed in the form of rehab. Several NBA/NFL players have had it successfully done and been back on the field/court within a month. The good thing for Sergio is that he doesn't need to be concerned with vertical leaping or anybody taking out his knees.

You would've found no one sane who would've said Chavez Jr was s good as Tito and no one that would've held Martinez up to that standard if he'd won.

it was this reason also that we saw chavez fighting the most cautious fight of his life. i realized it was this mechanism that really makes sergio so problematic: he pulls you into him and thus to be in the fight at all you must always steadily move forward. you have no choice but to do this. he will then use that forward movement to hit you with quick little shots that have double damage because you are always made to be moving towards them. i believe this was why chavez had the bones in his face broken: the shots were quick and little but as he was always made to be moving into them the damage is doubled. margarito had the bones in his face broken in a similar way against pacquiao, by always getting caught moving face forward into all of these quick little shots.

He'll come back and beat Golovkin, end up unifying the division when he finds getting a pay day with any of the top three at 154 proves futile. :hey

Remember the expectations before these 2 fights ? Ward did something that few people really expected.....Martinez ? Not really, he beat Chavez by decision when many people thought he would stop Jr....

I´m with you when you talk about that there isn´t a single skillset that fits all fighters, it´s true......
But Ward was much more creative to get the stoppage, he did more things, his feints, his combinations and everything.....Sometimes I feel that Sergio is just a bit predictable, well at least doesn´t have a game as varied as someone like Ward.....just that.

    Let's hope :good

And VIC I agree wholeheartedly about your comparison between Ward and Martinez, or rather lack of one. Ward is clearly the more capable operator.

You're right. I thought it was an ACL.

His mobility is very important. Moreso, just given his reflex/speed/timing based style, Father Time is not helping him. I'm surprised he is still fighting at such a high level, frankly.

    Ha!

Actually, as with Haugen v Camacho, I give more credit to the guy ripping bong hits before going into the ring.
