There must be a rematch. I'm going to start saying that Chavez was stoned and didn't realize he wasnt playing Fight Night 3 until the twelfth.

Tyson thought Holyfield's ear was a Dorito.

    Dangerous ****, man.

Oh yeah, ACL/MCL would've been devastating. Even getting up from that KD would've been a serious problem. When those happen, athletes are typically carted off the playing field and out indefinitely, shelved. How Tyson lasted to the 4th round with Williams after tearing his knee up in the first is completely beyond me. Don't believe it, actually. Had to be meniscus as well.

I'll give Sergio the benefit of the doubt for now as he's made a career out of doing the unlikely and beating the odds. You seem to enjoy his fights, but I can't fault feeling skeptical.

If a bullfrog had wings it wouldn't bump it's ass every time it hopped.

So elite fighters of this generation would be say.....Hopkins, Pea, Jones Jr., Mayweather, Pacquiao, Morales, etc.?

Sorry I just have a hard time putting Martinez and Williams in the "Very good" category when one has 1 PUNCHED the other one

Martinez is probably the best MW to come around since Hopkins... (yeah I said it)

I don't know if he can beat Golovkin. GGG has the makings of a great fighter, just like Martinez. GGG has great timing and a better arsenal than Chavez. I wonder how Sergio will handle GGG's power jab?

Williams is clearly not an elite fighter. Like I said Martinez is very close to being elite, and I would actually be calling him an elite fighter had he not been knocked down and on ***** street against Chavez. Add to the, the two unimpressive fights against Barker and Macklin and that raises red flags.

ESB Classic picks a modern champion over a guy who was filmed in black and white?

    2012 man. End times.

Yeah, Triple G is accurate and has power in both hands. That was more or less a vote of confidence than outright declaration. It's going to be a stern test, likely for both of them and Sergio is going to need his advantage of faster speed of hand and foot to be at an optimum level -- is that possible anymore? We'll have to wait and see. If Martinez is able to come back almost all the way, I imagine he'll be using a lot of improvision throughout, which is one of his strong suits in addition to his speed, being so unorthodox and athletically gifted.

Macklin should've never been such a huge underdog in that fight. I honestly felt like HBO went completely overboard in their criticism of him throughout that broadcast and it influenced people's opinions (not necessarily you). The kid is a solid contender and gave a very good performance through the first six or seven frames. Adding to the drama was that real fluky 'knockdown' when Martinez glove scraped the canvas. He had been darting in and out of range without attempting to put together more than one shot at a time -- Why? I don't know. However, when it became apparent to everybody that Martinez trailed on the cards, we saw him really assert himself and zero in, find and capitalize on openings that seemingly weren't there prior to. He was prepared to win every single round from the 8th on and was doing just that up to the KO.

I've followed Macklin since he was a kid; he really isn't very good mate. After Elcock and Asikainen he looked poor in his next few fights.
