    Sparring>Skills training>Roadwork>Strength training but all are necessary even if you only use bodyweight for strength training.

    How do you figure that cycling uses more muscles than swimming? If you're swimming correctly, you shouldn't just be using your arms, but driving with your legs as well - making it a whole body workout.


    When I was doing a lot of sparring, it usually came at the end of a long (~2 hr) workout and I rarely had problems gassing, without ever doing a whole lot of jogging (though I did have to gut out a few sessions against completely fresh opponents at a pretty big disadvantage). I agree that other forms of cardio can be just as good as jogging, in fact I may even rate jumping rope higher on the list. According to Workouts of Boxing's Greatest Champs, Matthew Saad Muhammed jumped more rope than anyone and was famous for his late round stamina.
