Of course. This is probably just showboating by the commission, trying to pretend they have a shred of integrity. They will fold at the last moment, citing "the good of the fans" or "the economic hardship to the venue & workers" or some such BS.

Then Uncle Bob will give the commissioner his nice fat envelope stuffed with green, and all will go as planned.

    ---------

I got a real good chuckle out of Arum, saying he has FIVE other venues "ready to go." Sure, Uncle Bob, you have five major event halls & their crews, sitting idle, with nothing else booked, just waiting for you to give them the go-ahead.

Riiiiiight. I always believe everything Uncle Bob says, don't you? !

 5 different venues does sound a bit excessive now that you mention it.

    Yep.

Also, if the venue were changed, imagine how much money the mob would lose.

There are NOT going to let that happen. The fight is on.

Why not AC? That is right around the corner (so to speak) from MSG!

I still don't believe it. The official word has not yet been issued. Why would they announce what they PLAN to announce?

Someone is just looking for a bigger payoff. Uncle Bob better dig deep.

    - Lord knows, he can afford it after rigging Pac-JMM. His coffers are flush.

Then again, part of me wants this to be true, just to see Arum publicly embarrassed.

You want nearly 20k ticket holders to be screwed over just to show up Arum?

I'm beyond angry right now. Unless I force myself to drive down to god knows where just because I still want to see it...I am probably not going to support Top Rank with my money again after this. I can get by watching the fights at a bar/stream.

If I lived in New York, I'd be mad or worried right now (I would have gotten tickets).

As it is, I like it when fights have loud and electric atmospheres, which this fight surely would have at MSG. So although the fight taking place in Mississippi or Bumsville, Alaska is okay for me since I'm watching it at home, I hope it stays at MSG.

Still, I do like seeing fights take place an unusual locations instead of the usual ones.

It's a government official in NY causing the delay. A little cash from Arum should smooth this over.

    Some things never change.

Of course not, that's why I said "part of me wants...."

Someone above mentioned AC. If that were to happen, I wonder if Arum would do something like provide free shuttle / party busses from NYC, for all the ticket holders. (complete with booze, food, and some boxing highlights playing on some big-screen LCDs.)

Maybe even complimentary lodging after the fight.

I doubt he'd spend the money, but it would certainly be the right thing to do.

    -----------

What am I saying? Using "Bob Arum" and "the right thing to do" in the same post. Sheesh....
