Born in 1959 and claiming to have no amateur fights, S.T Gordon compiled an overall professional record of 24-7-0-21. He was stopped only once after returning from a four year retirement in 1987. He campaigned primarily at cruiserweight and won the WBC title by defeating Carlos Deleon, but also fought a few bouts as a heavyweight. Trevor Berbick was among one of the names he defeated. He seemed like a decent puncher and fairly durable as well..
He ran circles around Gerry Cooney until he was finally DQ'd. But not an easy fella to hit at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHYsu9K6hXo
I remember his ko of DeLeon. Tv fight back in the 80's, he had Deleon hung up on the ropes and laid a major beatdown on him. Ref took a lot of heat for not stopping it. Brutal, brutal ko. Can't find it anywhere online. Shame
Beat Trevor Berbick. Odd fight as Berbick simply did not fight. Berbick came into the ring mellowed out. Berbick was always a head chase though. After the fight Gordon spoke going up to heavyweigh full time and making millions of dollars, only to lose tp De Leon in a rematch inwhich Gordon sucked so hard the ringside officials threatened to withhold his pursue do to lack of effort.
Thanx for the clip, damn what a horrible matchup, Cooney looked like he was about 30-40 lbs heavier, Gordon ran more than Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, and fought like he was in more fear as those kids in Halloween 1, being chased by Mike Myers, that dude had no business at Heavyweight, he looked more like a NATURAL 175 pounder than anything else... The thing that was disturbing to me was Cooney was chasing this idiot around the ring all night long like a bad dream and still couldn't put this idiot away...
