Does anyone know what is happening? Are they fast tracking to the Semi's or is Green still in the qurters with them/

Anyway I did some math @ this stage - interesting.....

Ward = Through to semis even if Dirrell beats him

Dirrell = 4 points if he beats Ward

Froch = 4 points if he beats Ab, 5 if via knockout

Abs = 5 points if he baets Froch, 6 if by KO

Green = 3 points if he KO's his opponent

Green's opponent (Bika?) = 3 points if he KO's his opponent

    So:

If Dirrell looses and Green gets a KO he's through.

If Froch looses, Dirrell draws minimum and Green KO's his opponent Green & Dirrell go through. Froch goes out.

If Green's opponent (Bika?) KO's Green and Dirrell looses Green's opponent advances with Froch and Abs

If Froch looses and Green's opponent KO's him Green's opponent (Bika?) goes through with Abs and Dirrell if he draws as a minmum vs Ward

Kinda sucky for Froch / Dirrell / Abraham really that Green and his yet to be named (Bika?) opponent can likely go through if either score a KO and really suck for Dirrell if he looses.

i'm okay with that--there needs to be a wildcard element to make the third group stage interesting beyond just the bouts themselves

Well, Green is still in it and it looks like Bika is going to be his opponent (according to b-scene).

It would be a travesty if either one of them went through. Regardless of the mathmatics, we all know that the other 4 guys deserve to be there more.

It would have been best for everyone if Green had withdrawn in exchange for some guaranteed tv dates and we had just moved straight to the semi-finals. This latest set-up is a recipe for disaster.

IMHO Bika will KO Green. It will be kind of funny if Bika goes into semis :D with only 1 fight in the super duper six :D

From what I hear, it's not just Green that caused the problem. If they went straight to the semis, it would have reduced the amount each of the fighters were paid and nobody was happy with that.

    I'm OK with that too.

Anyone who is unable to get more than 2 points in 3 fights doesn't deserve to go to the semis more than someone who gets 3 points in a single fight.

That didn't even cross my mind - I suppose I was being a bit naive thinking money didn't have anything to do with this.

It would be better for the fans and the tournament itself if they had just went straight to the semis. Oh well, after all the speculation that AA-Froch and Ward-Dirrell weren't going to happen, I suppose we should just be happy it's going ahead.

One victory over Green or Bika shouldn't be enough to get either guy through, since the other guys have been through much tougher fights.

I might be losing it but I thought I read on Dan Rafael's Twitter that Glen Johnson was being brought in. Didn't he supposedly enter the ring at '92 for his last fight?

well then maybe Dirrell/Ward/Abraham should win their next fight if they dont want to leave their destiny into the hands of the winner of Bika/Green.

Isn't Abraham already through with 3 points?!

Neither Green nor opponent can overtake that.
