This fight is definitely somewhat of a let-down and no doubt Canelo will be the odds-on favorite but don't pretend it's not going to be competitive.

I don't think Charlo has Canelo's power nor chin nor defensive ability. Charlo might look good for the first few rounds as he uses his speed to compete but I think Canelo's bodywork will add up quickly and the moment Charlo slows down a little he's going to get his skull rearranged.He just doesn't have the firepower or armourplating to compete. After the fight it will seem obvious that it was a mismatch. If Charlo goes the distance and is competitive then Canelo has officially slipped and is on the downhill.

 

Has anyone successfully yet differentiated who is Jermell and who is Jermall?

The only thing that stands out my mind over the last 10 years was one of them talking smack about Jacobs and then Jacobs pops out of nowhere and lays it on them and they flapped it.

If he's referencing the Ryder fight we all knew it would be a tough fight just based on how Ryder fights. Ryder came ready to go out on his shield and ended up being a gallant loser. Check out my comments before the fight if anybody doubts it. I always thoguht Canelo was a heavy favourite but that Ryder might win if he walked through fire. Well he walked through fire but still lost. Thems the breaks

 

If Canelo doesn't make a worthwhile defence later this year, it's a pretty wasted year. If he faces Benavidez towards the end of the year, there can be no complaints, though. This doesn't deserve to be more than a stay busy fight.
