I've just checked, the number 1 LMW in the world has never before made a two division jump straight into a title fight like this before.

Also it depends what you mean by approx the same size, Canelo hasn't weighed in at LMW for 7 years. Charlo has never weighed above 154.

This fight does nothing for Canelo. Like I said, there's only 3 fights that would improve upon his resume, this ain't one of em.

We had already agreed that you would not give Canelo any credit regardless why are we rehashing this?

Even if he stops Charlo in round 1 I wouldn't give him credit, it's a mismatch. Canelo is levels above, maybe I rate him higher than you, I dunno.

You brought it up. You mentioned comparisons with Spence and Garcia, so I reiterated my point to clarify it.

You brought up Spence/Garcia as a comparison to discredit Canelo/Charlo, I simply shot that down.

You'll give Canelo zero credit for this fight, I will give him some. Let's leave it at that.

I think both Charlo and Canelo are trying to augment their net worth - not their reputations.

Charlo is not going to beat the next batch of up & comers @ 154 and the federations seem totally willing to hit the pause button on 154 while this little adventure with Canelo plays out. So Charlo really has nothing to lose. Even if he comes back worse for wear from fighting Canelo, he'll still have lucrative fights @ 154 to finish out his career. As I said, I don't think he's beating the next batch of guys at 154, anyhow, whether he fights Canelo or not.

I think Canelo's fading but he probably gives Charlo a beating and a stoppage seems possible. All we can hope for is that there will be no rematch and we can get back to business at 154 lbs soon.

You asked why we're rehashing it. After our conversation you then mentioned the comparison, so I then had to reiterate the point that Canelo gets no credit for fighting a guy two divisions south.

Had you not made that post after our conversation we would not have had to rehash it.

I probably just rate Canelo higher than you which is fine, it's a subjective sport.

You're probably right. MW is a mess right now, he might hunt a belt at 160.

Still, the federations are granting him endless indulgences, so I expect 154 would remain an option should he choose it.

Anyone else notice how Charlo was behaving like a good little boy none of his usual fake ass gangster ****. He knows to behave in front of his Daddy Canelo so he can take his big pay day for a glorified sparring session.

I think this is a great fight. Jermell is aggressive and so is Canelo. Canelo is a little diminished so it could be competitive.
