Jermell @ 168 isn't quite the insanity that Mikey Garcia fighting @ 147 was, but Charlo hasn't had a whiff of that weight. Canelo isn't tall for 168 but he can carry the weight OK because he's pretty stocky. I suspect Charlo may not weigh in above 165.

Apart from having less mileage on his clock, I don't see where Charlo has any advantages.

'cept that Canelo didn't drag anybody up to new weight classes. They came willingly to get a payday.

The more I think about this fight I reckon it is going to be a glorified sparring session. Charlo knows he can't win he just wants the pay day so he won't take any risks so Canelo won't feel the need to knock him out and will happily win a 9-3. 10-2 type of decision.

Charlo is more athletic and quicker. But as far as skill goes, he's outmatched. And like you said, Canelo is pretty stocky and still has good handspeed at 168. Charlo might start of well but once he starts getting tagged with clean counters, he'll go into survival mode and lose a clear decision.

    Maybe. Dunno, though.

It's a lot harder to orchestrate a fight over 12 rounds than it is to make an arrangement for an opponent to lie down in the first round.

The last obvious example of this that I can think of was probably when Tyson Fury "fought" Francesco Pianeta in 2018. But that was not a high-profile fight and Pianeta & Fury had been sparring buddies since 2008.

It's doesn't have to be scripted. Charlo may very well try come out take the fight to Nelo, but once the skill disadvantage becomes apparent, he'll likely just do his best to see the final bell. Either way he's taking an L but will make a get a nice haul for his troubles.

Stop whining about this and get back to me when Charlo is the bigger guy at fight time.

Yeah, I could see that. Canelo has seemed pretty spent in the last few rounds of his recent fights, so if Charlo goes into survival mode - Canelo may not make an issue out of it.

    I wouldn't buy this fight.

I've never been a fan of Canelo and never will. I don't know if it's because he looks like that comic book character Archie, or if he's just overrated. Mayweather busted the **** out of him. Bivol beat him. Way too much hype from a guy that's lost twice and possibly one or two more against Golovkin.

I hope Charlo beats him and right now I believe he will. In any case, I couldn't care less about Canelo. He should stick to appearing in comic books.
