All true save the venue - while meager-looking, the Gimnaseo Club de Boxeo del México has existed in Santiago, Chile for almost sixty years and stages pro cards on a monthly basis.

Don't worry, folks - El Fénix Asesino vs. El Gran Cañón III didn't get canceled, just pushed back a week and a half for some reason, "finally" happening this Saturday.

I heard about a rumored fight between Carita and Farah in the fall of 2017. When their first attempted fight fell through, Reuben Williams - whose 24 or so prior fights had proven to be as brief as they were unsuccessful - was the rumored replacement. So I doubt it was Carita's conscience that stepped in so much as the Massachusetts Boxing Commission. And given that the MBC was willing to allow Danny Phippen fight Jean Pierre Augustin in a HW fight - it takes a lot to move their needle. This did.

Carita, last time I checked, seemed to be #5 or #6 among USA CWs according to BoxRec.

Seeing as how things have unfolded since I made that post, I’m inclined to 100% disagree with what I said initially and agree with you lol. Both Carrita and Farah are amongst the biggest jokes in the sport at this point

I’ve never seen such a ridiculous bout. I get that he’s trying to build up a fraudulent record but why would you ****ing post recordings of the bouts afterwards

My favorite part is how he throws a few punches, then practically stares down the ref and demands he starts counting

Oh boy, Farah vs. Mamani IV tomorrow..

Cesar Mamani's record is 0-6-1, all losses by KO. He is yet to last five rounds with Farah...but this one is, comically, scheduled for 12.

I’m not sure I’ve seen as big of a promotional blunder as bringing in Saul Farah and advertising him vs. Ronald Johnson as the first big heavyweight fight in Manila since Thrilla in Manila. Have they never seen this man fight before?

I noticed this on BoxRec and have been meaning to bump this and mention it.

Ronald Clyde "The American Dream" freaking Johnson.. what a weird ass record! Active for almost 15 years now, averaging roughly one fight annually in that span, and his only step up in class (and only defeat) was by MD in a 6-rounder against Darnell Boone.

Farah has 95 professional bouts and looks as if he could be a great-grandpa (especially if we're factoring in unprotected tween hanky-panky in the barrio) - yet someone assuming his 15-1 opponent was young enough to be his kid would be sorely mistaken, as Johnson is only two years his junior!
