Moore a bit too canny and classy for mine. The man is just so hard to beat at 175. I'm not sure i'd favor anyone over him excepting Charles. Saad is a tough gig tho, big power, heart and durability. Late stoppage or decision i think. Moore would dictate the tempo of the fight and offset Saad's offensive rhythm with precise counter attacks.
These are two all time greats. Matthew Saad Muhammad could not afford to lay back and absorb punishment, only to come back to kayo his opponent. He would have to fight Archie Moore, the way he fought Marvin Johnson, in 1979, to come out victorious. Archie has had a lot of experience, he fought heavyweights. So it is safe to assume, that he can absorb dynamite punches. Saad starts off going after Moore, who uses his crossed armed crab defense, to stymie Saad's aggressive pressure. Matthew takes an early lead, staggering Moore, but as the fight wears on, Archie swollen over both eyes, rocks Muhammad with a pulverizing over hand right hand opening a cut over Saad's left eye in round 11. Archie rains blow after blow on Saad, forcing a TKO stoppage in round 12. These fighter's show the fans why they are considered great champions.
Moore by decision. Saad will be hurt at some point but his heart and recuperative powers will have him seeing the final bell.
Saad was actually a good boxer but changed into a seek and destroy banger. With his power and great heart , he would give Archie a very tough night's work! Three fights he wins one!
I love Saad and he was a huge puncher and a warrior but he was out of his class w Archie who would take him out late ..
Moore by decision or late stoppage. Saad would have his moments. It would be an entertaining fight. I would put this bout on top of the card with Toney/Hopkins underneath. That way the fans could get some good sleep before the main event. They would be very livley and lucid just coming out of a nap.
