Tank fought a 38 year old Gamboa, who had only one fully-functioning leg, and managed to look worse than both Sosa and Castellanos did against him. Take a good look at Gervonta Davis. This is the man Ellerbe and May are trying to convince casuals is a superstar in the making. You can't make this stuff up.
He's just not as good as many have made him out to be and I'm man enough to admit he's not even as good as I thought he was. Fact is if you're even 10% of what your cheerleaders have hyped you up to be it doesn't take you 12 rounds to get an absolutely shot beyond belief 38 y/o peg-leg glass-jawed cripple Cuban leprechaun Gamboa out of there. I thought it was a 2 round fight tops. Gamboa looked like a drunk disjointed puppet in there trying to navigate his way across an inflatable castle whilst blindfolded. He looked absolutely horrible, horrific even. No speed, no balance, no coordination, no accuracy etc.
This is what I don't get. He has 22 knock outs in 23 fights. Meaning one fighter managed to survive. So they advertised him as a big power punching mini Tyson etc.But where was that big show stopping power tonight.?Do he have a padded record?Yes, his punches sounds good, hard and you can hear it. But Gamboa took most of them well. If he does have one of those glossy padded records. This kid is going to get exposed badly later on.
Gamboa is not a glass jawed fighter. He takes a great shot. The reason he's been down many times is his defence, which is virtually not existent plus he leaves his chin way up high. But he can take a punch. Davis is hyped and overrated, no doubt, but dont make a mistake of underrating him because of that. Still has a lot to learn and tonight he probably did. If he didn't, well, that's going to be a problem then.
sad....yes it is all in the beholder I suppose. I was laughing my arse off at the ass wipe clown Davis being exposed.
It was t a great performance but to call him or anyone else who competes in the sport a bum is crazy. I would like to know what you do to compete beside type.
Fight wasn't close at all. Pointless thread. But I see where this is coming from.. Loma Loma Loma lol Enjoy the d riding while it lasts. Loma is on his way out.
I've never been impressed with Davis and thought he would lose tonight but he proved me wrong, so props to him. Not a great win but If he's smart he will learn a lot from this victory.
Changes in his personal life will not increase his reach/height, he is a beefed-up Flyweight This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
