You're confusing Lou with Ronnie Coleman. Ferrigno never won the Olympia and didn't compete in powerlifting, although he did participate in the worlds strongest man once. Point is valid though. But even done "correctly" pounding out a lifetime of training and carying a lot of mass can result in some negative physical ailments for some......but look at guys who play football or hockey or box. ...I'll take the chance for some nagging ailments over what other athletes can experience.

Yup, to say weighlifting will "mess you up for life" is absolutely ridiculous.

A more accurate statement would be "boxing will mess you up for life".

Destroyed knuckles , broken hands, tweaked wrists , torn shoulders and ligaments not to talk about brain damage facial scarring broken noses and god knows what else.

The likelihood of silly injuries in boxing/sparring is also pretty high as its a uncontrolled, often chaotic activity. Calf injuries, achilles tendon quads etc. can all easily be torn while boxing. Conversely, weight lifting if done right is a very controlled exercise where if the due care is taken you are fairly unlikely to injure yourself.

I can assure you most boxers pick up their injuries by boxing, not by weighlifting.

If you want to be healthy and strong for life and have real muscle, and not the weight lifting water muscles, you need to use Calesthenics and Kettlebells.

    That's it.

Forget about putting 8 plates on your spine. That's how you mess up your spine for life.

Advanced calisthenics are not easy. You think it's easy to do a one arm pull up?

    It's not.

You got to understand sports science is based off one thing. PERFORMANCE.

Not longevity. If you are behind bars, and your soft tissue has been broken down by the constant pounding of heavy weights, how will you defend yourself from an attack?

You need to be lithe, agile, AND STRONG.

Weights will make you strong for a moment, but the next moment, you find yoruself in the pen, with a cloth stuck in your mouth, and dude yellin get it, and a guy with a whistle, switchin people out.

And thing is, that will happen on the streets cuz most of you voted for gay ***.

I lifted weights for years, it all went wrong though as I have now become 99% water and have been officially declared a jellyfish.

You dont have a clue what sports science is.
I remember you asking does hitting a heavy bag cause arthritis on the hand knuckles.:patsch
No soft tissue will be broken down by heavy weight, thats you just talking out of your ass as usually. No evidence at all.
