Headlining on BXNG TV on Sunday, the day before Labor Day, bringing the summer boxing season to a close on August thirty-first, at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit, MI. Ten rounds scheduled at super welterweight.

Ali hasn't fought professionally in over six years. Once a very strong amateur with victories over the likes of Terence Crawford & José Pedraza who just narrowly missed the Olympics, his biggest moment came in 2017 when he defeated Miguel Cotto to become the WBO champ at 154lbs. He would hot-potato the belt to Jaime Munguía in his first defense and less than a year later would be ignominiously stopped by an unranked Anthony "Juice" Young and retire as essentially a one hit wonder (wins over the likes of Johan Pérez and Luis Abregú were decent, but not legacy-making).

He returns now to face Cody "The Sergeant" Wilson, an Iraq veteran with a 14-5 record. Wilson has been stopped in his two biggest steps up in class, by Tre'Sean Wiggins and Elvis Rodríguez. His best achievement is defeating Dan Karpency - the baby of the family that includes former light heavyweight contender Tommy and heavyweight Jeremiah - to become West Virginia state champion in 2020.

On the undercard is another former world titlist - Richard Oblitey Commey - breaking a 2½ year layoff. Commey, whom Teófimo López dethroned in 2019, is 1-2-1 since. He faces the 43 year old feather-fisted Argentine multiple time world title challenger Fernando David "El Vasco" Saucedo.
