were you impressed by his performance? I was, he showed good boxing skills with good defense, and good speed and power. People were saying he has a glass chin though? :think
I was surprised considering I haven't been paying attention to him for quite some time. He really put it on Abregu.
I was impressed. Considering the hype he had in 2009-2011 and that he never once tried to remotely capitalize on it with big names, I figured he didn't have it in him. I picked Abregu and was genuinely impressed by Ali's performance.
I liked the look of him bounced about a bit like old khan accept with more angles, his timing and discipline was good too, don't know if he's a top 10 guy though
A solid win Nice win for Ali, but I’m not on the train just yet. I did think Abregu was going to win, so shows what I know, but it looked like Abregu was pretty easy to hit clean with counters. The first several rounds of this fight were almost insomnia curing. I’d like to see Ali continue to fight contenders, and we’ll see where he ends up.
I thought he looked decent enough. I don't know that I'm impressed though. It looked as if he was just as surprised as anyone else when he put Abregu away. In the few minutes before that, I thought was gassed and beginning to lose confidence. It's possible that that thought was planted in my head due to his corner pleading with him not to give up. Still, he did what needed to be done in his first big fight. If I were on his management team, I wouldn't put him in there quite yet with the likes of "Swift", but they should keep him in with decent contenders for a coupla more fights to build his confidence a bit more. I just wrote way too much about a fighter I'm indifferent towards.
Seems pretty skilled. Not about to call him the NBT , but hope HBO gets him back on so we can see how far he can go.
