Problems with alcohol, drugs and depression, career went way down hill and he eventually completely faded away and retired. IIRC also had financial problems, seems all okay now tho :good
All been mentioned already Honeyghan v Breland McGuigan v Cruz Benn v Collins 2 ( and 1 ) Hatton v Pacquaio The 2 big one's from my youth were Eubank Watson 2 and Benn v Gerald, got pumped up for both, both great fights, both nearly ending in death. The Benn v Mclellan one ,i've never seen a fight with such contrasting emotions.Still cant quite believe what happened that night.
He put up a tremendous fight in their first bout, Saad's coner stopped his cuts with Monsels Solution which is banned, he had Parlov coming into the ring with plastic skin on his eyebrows . John didn't get many favours abroad.
I liked Jeff. He was a great fighter to watch and was a true tough man. But, it was common knowledge that Azumah was sick going into their 1st fight. In their 2nd fight, Jeff wasn't walking through Azumah's bombs with ease.
why did that make you sad???????????? when jones was a fighter who teased and humilated many fighters in the ring... so it is ok for to do it and not others
Sonny Liston's interview with Howard Cosell after the Leotis Martin fight. Poor guy was extremely troubled.
It was pretty sad after Liston became champ he went to Philly (I think?) had a speech prepared was hoping to be met by a huge crowds of screaming fans like most heavyweight champs instead was met by about 3-4 reporters. Poor dude had such a depressing life.
