i get that....i know alot on cuban boxing. not an expert, but i know my share. i know working hard as well as being a full time job for the elite ones....one does not get that freakishly big with just hard work. genetics plays a part, but IMO had some help along the line somewhere, that doesnt mean any of the rest of the team did, but the heavyweights have been the face of their team for a long. to think a communist country wouldnt ****ing cheat is another story in itself

Yes the saddest moment in boxing was when a 19 year old amateur was knocked out by a 30 year old career amateur who was one of the greatest amateur to ever live and then turned pro and is now known for having one of the best chins in history...... Make me want to cry its so sad.

:rofl While democratic country like USA will never cheat no way, they are just robbing every country they can but its cool since they are not communist:patsch
I bet Felix Savon would not pass drug test in Indianapolis if he was on something...

Modern athletes use PED's, as did world class athletes of that era, Im astonished that you think a guy or "guys" in a general context, who aren't juicing are beating all these guys that are minimally better or worse than them from a skill standpoint/talent/ability, but they aren't juicing. Don't be nieve breh, it's not a huge negative thing, it's simply the context of the circumstances and pressure of the culture. It doesn't change what he's accomplished and doesn't diminish it either, because the cats he competed against were juicing too.

I'm sure there is a lesser chance of Savon having it than Mike Tyson or any other pro fighter that earned enormous amount of money...but i forgot he is Cuban so let hate on him:patsch

Are you kidding?? There is a GREATER chance Savon was juicing than any American. Wake up and smell the aroma of communism lol. Where do you really think most of the studies and research early on on anabolic/androgenic steroids began?

Most communist countries have either been proven to have run state-sponsored doping programmes, or have been heavily suspected of doing so.

However, a small island with a population less than a third of California going to world championships and winning more gold medals than the rest of the world combined is completely above suspicion...

From the short right hand which landed across the chin. The headgear Tua was wearing went into Savon's face. If anything Savon should have been hurt from that.

Savon was like 24 when he stopped Tua. Savon also weighed the same as Tua in the ring, which if I remember correctly was 205 pounds.

It's a shame Savon was a loyal communist. He definitely would have been a long standing heavyweight champion with that type of bone crunching straight right hand, jab, and boxing ability. He was much lighter on his feet than either Lewis, or the Klitscho brothers. His chin would have likely been better as a pro also, since the 6'5+ Savon, would have been able to let his body fill out to around 240-250 pounds of muscle, instead of of the 205 pounds he fought at as an amateur. Not sure which was a bigger waste of unrealized potential and talent, him or Ibeabuchi.
